looks like the GUI needed a restart.
after i set the vcb server name on the master server properties, i couldn't find the Virtual Machine Servers under Credentials.

i tried expire, image, etc, no luck... just looking for some clues to get started.
here's what I've decided to do.
1.) write backups to disk stu (mostly over night)
2.) stage backups to tape (mostly during the day)
3.) run vault job to eject media in the offsite pools on a daily basis
