I am unable to encapsulate a root disk unser Volume Manager
5.0,REV=05.11.2006.17.55. I get the following error:
VxVM ERROR V-5-2-338
The encapsulation operation failed with the following error:

Well I was able to get a support id and call this problem in and it turns out that the problem was with the name of the boot disk as seen by the Volume Manager, disk_0. The tech had me change the naming scheme back to "osn" and then try the encapsula...
Sorry that document specified a different error numer. I did check the vfstab and it is the one created from a clean install of the system, so no extraneous characters or duplicate lines. Good try, though.
I've never done a disk mirror with Veritas before, so take the advice with a grain of salt. You probably should have a backup of the root disk before doing this. Or be able to readily reinstall the system using something like a Jumpstart server or ...
