Just an update on the media mgmt services not starting - it continues to be an issue each time I reboot my 3.1 appliances. I'm probably going to go to 3.1.1 so I'm not planning to open a case unless the issue continues with 3.1.1.

You can do this. I have used two separate 3rd parties as the primary point of contact for Veritas support in my work with NetBackup.
