the logs are the same wether it goes through or not. I compared the logs between a vcenter which I can browse the VMs and one that I can't and its identical. Here's the log on the machine that works

This makes sense, I wasn't worried for most of the skipped folders as I knew that those were system stuff skipped by NetBackup but in the list I had some file folders that were skipped and I did not know why.

Good news it, there a patch to fix the problem and it also fixes some other problems as well (see at the end of message for list of fixed issues).
problem is, you have to open a case to get the patch cause backline has to get through your site config...
Just so you know:
1. compressed the DB from 4Gb to 680Mo
2. halved my backup time on a 4Gb database
3. halved my restore time on the same DB (it restores the compressed data)
4. uses any tape available wether its compressed images or not
