You should be able to remove the lun even if you don't run "vxdiskunsetup". vxdiskunsetup will remove the private and public regions so if you want to clean up the slices, first vxdiskunsetup and then remove the disk from veritas. The powerpath e...

Did you label the disk ? If you are using EMC powerpath, then you should also run "powermt config" before identifying the disk in veritas.
