Cannot inventory tapes from Backup Exec 9d to 2010

Upgraded Backup Exec from 9d to 2010, now cannot inventory tapes that were used to backup data. It Ques and when cancel "cancel pending" hanges. Other wise 2010 is working fine with backup and restore
