difference between synthetic backup/ optimised synthetic backup and virtual synthetic backup

Hi, As per my understanding synthetic backup takes one full backup and some incremental backup images and creates an image (synthetised image). virual synthetic backup just holds a pointer for already backuped images and shows virtual backuped image....
