Thanks, when I select the settings for Lotus Domino and choose Full - Backup Database & Loggs - Reset Archive Bit, I assume this enables archive logging???

Despite the tape utility telling me there was no issue with the hardware, this turned out to be a faulty drive! IBM replaced the drive 3 days ago and we have successful backups now! Thanks for the suggestions and help along the way!
