It turns out the database that it was failing on is one we do not need to backup anyway. It was a temporary one that the 3rd party vendor setup, so on I removed that from the job it backed up the main db fine

Well it started to work fine out of the blue now. The past week I had been manually running the job and it was fine, and the last two days it worked fine without me having to run the job manually.
