I'm trying to cleanup and optimize our Netbackup policies. We have policies that do 'disk to disk to tape'.
Most policies are similar to this:
Weekly Full to Disk - Retention 2 Weeks
Daily Incremental to Disk - Retention 1 Week
Weekly To Tape - ...
Running NetBackup 7.5.0.7 and EVault 10
From all of the whitepapers, manuals, etc I've read our policies are outdated and based on early versions of NetBackup. We also typically do disk-disk-tape.

Do you mean the Volume Pools? We use the defaults essentially, NetBackup, Scratch and CatalogBackup.

We don't have the Ent Disk license unfortunately. My coworker had the idea of duplicating all of the policies and changing...
So if we're stuck with the one 30TB volume... what would be the recommendation? Wiping out all the old storage units and creating one? Not sure how we could even do that since live images exist on the current storage units.

OK, so it looks like our GB/Hour is around the same. What partition size do you cut off at? Like I said, I think our guy does around 800GB to match a full tape.

For example, our last full backup was 380GB (6.1 Million files) and it took 17 hours.
I believe our EV guy is cutting the partition around 800GB so you could see if it got close ...
