Could anyone explain my query please ..
We have one windows media server ..windows 2208 with netbackup 7.5 version, where drives are shared.
the thing is that we frequently get drive down alerts..
when i check the vmoprcmd -d/tpconfig -d output ...
Couple of drives showing missing paths , I have deleted and Re-configured the drives after verifying correct serial.no. of the drives but there is no Luck.
Still drives are showing missing paths...
We can see the 15 tape drives at device manager i...
Vendor has replaced the faulty drive, given the new serial no., the thing is that when i updated new serial no. its showing updated in the Global data base.
When ever i reset the drive its showing Invalid Drive Number.
We are using Netbackup 7.5...
Backup is failling with 69 error in one of the windows 2008 client.
Media server and client is same windows 2008 server with veritas 7.5.6
Master server is : Linux 2.6.32-279.22.1.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Feb 5 12:18:08 PST 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 ...

We got 30 drive up events on one of the drive in ABC media server.
I have checked the drive status from Netbackup end
drive is UP and verified at OS level by tpautoconf -t.
and checked the rmt it there in b...
As i discussed earlier Vendor has replaced the drive once again correctly, We have updated the new serial no
and right now drive is UP and working fine without any issue as of now...

Please find my Observations,
I have deleted the drive throgh command line and Again configured the drive throgh Device configured Wizard,
But im surprise to see that the faulty drive wch is replaced without updating new serial no went to the
STAND...
Can i go ahead with deleting the drive and add the drive through device config wizard?
if i perform those steps can my drive will be visible or else it dissapears?
As it happens one time for me earlier..
Please tell me how to follow ...with detail...
Scan -tape command does not show any new serial no. wich has changed for the replaced drive..
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpautoconf -report_disc gives the info other drive not the issue with the original drive
