Custum Recovery Disk: computer does not boot from disk

My computer (Windows Vista) does not want to boot from my Custum Recovery Disk. It keeps using the OS on my main drive. However, not so long ago, the Recovery Disk worked just fine. Why does the computer bypass the DVD Disc
