Double Verify (B2D and B2T) - Is that necessary?

Hi together,All night we backup data to disk, followed by a verify, then en duplicate to tape, followed again by a verify.To reduce the Backup Timeframe, I will cancel one verify. Is that expedient? Do we need the verify double?
