How do I delete IMG folders and contents?
It appears that the creation of an infinite number (up to the point of "drive full")of IMG folders (when using B2D to back up Exchange Server) is a known issue. Unfortunately, I have learned this only after creating 23 IMG folders of approximately 11 GB each. I cannot find a method within Backup Exec for deleting these IMG folders and when I attempt a manual deletion using Windows Explorer I get the error message "Error Deleting File or Folder - cannot delete ese.dll: Access is denied." I must get rid of these blankety-blank things before I run out of disk space. Based on the number of related posts I'm guessing somebody must've figured out an answer to this problem. I just can't seem to find it posted here. Thanks in advance.3.6KViews0likes16Commentse00084ca - The data being read from the media is inconsistent.
Hi, I am wondering what might be wrong. I am getting this error log every week after full system backup job. Increments are done each day and full backup once in week. I have Buffalo 1TB Network station and about 300Gb's to backup. Here is error log. It seems that data backup is done correctly anyway. We have about 220 laptops that currently have DLO installed. All of them have it run at startup with the -u modifier. The problem I am having is that the icon is not showing in the system tray. You have to end the process and then start it without the -u to see it in the system tray. The problems is if I do it like that on startup, you see the splash screen and it does not automatically minimize to the system tray. Any ideas... Am I missing something in the profile configurations that handle this?? Thanks for the help.312Views0likes2CommentsPowerVault 124T and Backup Exec 11d
Hi folks, I have been using a Dell PowerVault 124T with Backup Exec 11d for nearly three years and although the autoloader works well, I have had one issue that I have never been able to solve - or solve to what I believe to be satisfactory. :-) When our scheduled backupfills thefirst tape (LTO3) it will not run onto another tape without manually scanning the slot that the tapeis located- its as if Backup Exec/Autoloader doesn't see the tapes that are there. It will always start the backupandfind/use thetape in slot 1, but it will never look at the other slots for tapes unless I do the manual scan when I get the error message asking me to insert media. I have got around this by running a manual scheduled job that uses the bemcmd command that carries out an inventory of the specified slots before the backup runs - this then allows the backup to complete fine as it knows the tapes are there. I do have to be careful with this command though as if you set it to inventory all slots and the slots are not occupied with tapes, the inventory will fail and then the backup won't start. I guess my question is - should Backup Exec check the slots for tapes if you haven't run an inventory before a job starts? If so, is there any idea why I have the above problem when jobs go over the first tape? If not, then I know running an inventory before the job starts is the correct procedure - it just doesn't seem right as I would expect Backup Exec to do a scan of the slots before/during a job if it needs a tape. :-) Thanks for all your help Rob1KViews1like8CommentsBackup SQL Server with SQL Agent

Hi, I'm running v11 and amlooking to hide the Remote Agent from the System Tray. Preferably I'd like to do this fornon-administrators but I'll take whatever I can get. We run a large Terminal Server environment and I would rather my users not have any interaction with the backup processes, agent, agent's tools or anything else. Backup 11d SP3 6235 windows server 2003 I have just put in a new cleaning tape into slot 8 (cleaning slot) and BE does not show the tape being there. I put the tape into slot 7 and it shows it. I Changed the tape type to CLN and that does not help. I tried to associate the tape to Cleaning tapes but it does not have that as a selection? Why is it not showing in slot 8 but it shows in slot 7 (currently shows in scratch tape) Thanks2.7KViews1like8CommentsBackup exe confusion
