SYSTEM RECOVERY Y BACKUP EXEC
With SYTEM SYMANTEC RECOVERY I can do a complete picture of the server operating system and SAP applications on that server tabajo, but if I can get a new copy every week and I want to update manually or automatically to the first image that was taken out is possible or necessary server have to work with Backup Exec SAP agent or I can combined the two applications is possible.
Remove low on diskspace message in the Event Viewer
I get the bellow errormessage in the event log when creating a image. the diskspace free is 250 GB of a 3.5 TB partition. Some clients are now getting worried about there servers running low on space and since this is not the case i would like System recovery not to create these events. Is there any registry key or setting i can change ? Server freezed by BE System Recovery backup jobs
w e recently bought Symantec BackupExec System recovery 8.5 SBS and installed it on a Windows 2003 SBS Standard SP2. Every time I run a backup job to backup C: drive (45GB) with Active Directory partition, the server freezes completely and doesn’t respond to anything. This happens when the job is 88% completed see the attached screenshot. There is nothing in the even logs (windows/Symantec) no error messages – nothing, it just freezes completely and the only solution is hard reboot. After I started having this problem with BE System Recovery I tried to run a backup using BackupExec 11d which was install on the server prior to BE SystemRecovery – and I get absolutely the same result – the server crashes I applied all server updates and latest Intel RAID drivers – that didn’t make any difference. Re-installing the server is not an option. I feel bitter having paid for two Symantec products and none of them worked. No they want me to fork out another 100 to look into this problem. I would appreciate any help / practical advice on the issue ThanksMigrating 2 new backup server; want to keep all existing backups and tape library data
I realize this probably isn't how it is supposed to be done, but it is what it is...... anyhow, we have a backup server running Server 2003R2 and 11.d with attached HP MSA-60 7TB disk array and TL4000 tape library..... what we plan to do is swap from a Dell server to an HP server, and at the same time upgrade to 12.5 while at the same time keeping all existing backup data from the array and the tape library. I have the 11.d admin guide, but the closest thing I can find about this are vague references to IDR. From what I'm reading, it appears we probably need to upgrade to 12.5 on the existing server first.......?? after that, I'm all ears.....Backup Exec System Recovery Option Question
Hi, We are considering buying Backup Exec System Recovery Option as a compliment to our existing Backup Exec 11d for Windows. Some of our servers have Backup Exec 11d installed but the servers where we want to install theSystem Recovery Optiondoesn't have it and are only using Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows. My question is,will BackupExec System Recovery Option work withBackup Exec Remote Agent or does it require the full Backup Exec 11d software installed on the servers? My other question is, can you restore a recovery point from Windows interface using theSystem Recovery Optionor it only works with the Backup Exec System Recovery full version? Thanks in advance. M2A
