Catalogue Reporting from Backup Exec 12.5
Hello time-travelers, No it's not 2010. No need to adjust your clocks. What's the easiest way to run a discovery report on the Backup Exec 12.5 catalogue please? Are there any native or 3rd party tools that could help the discovery? Looking for simple information about: * Names of clients with valid backup images in the catalogue. * Date ranges of valid backup images in the catalogue. * Any data restores performed in last 2 years. Background: We have a legacy Backup Exec 12.5 platform running on Server 2003 that's been sitting idle for a number of years. The last backup image was created about 2 years ago, so it definitely has valid images. We have finally decided to decommission the old platform, but our Risk team wants to know what data is still being held on backups before they'll sign off on the "early" destruction. Thanks in advance for any advice.883Views0likes0CommentsError Message E00084CA The data being read from the media is inconsistent
Hello, I have a strage occurence at a customers site. When I install the remote agent on 2 servers and start a backup I immediatly get the E00084CA Error. When I disable the agent and do a network share backup all is ok. It is not the tape nor the tape unit.. Local backups are OK, only remote backups with the agent on these 2 servers are not ok. we have tried another server with the agent and it went OK too... What can be the problem, If I do a test run all seems ok. Hi Backup Exec experts, I'm in the process of restoring 20+ year-old data backed up with Veritas Backup Exec Desktop v4.6.1, which in the early 2000's was a downloadable technical update to my licensed boxed 4.5 version. (This was probably released not that long after the product was acquired from Symantec.) I have been unable to find the download file for this update installer, which appears to be needed to restore my data successfully. However, a screenshot (attached) I took from the Symantec support site in 2019 reveals that the filename I'm looking for is: bd461u_b45i_239467.EXE If anyone has this file or can point me to an official archive or download site where I can retrieve it, I'd greatly appreciate it. Prezados, bom dia. Hoje pela manhã ao verificar nossa rotina de Backup verifiquei que um determinado Job não foi executado e apresentou uma falha. Ao consultar o histórico do Job, encontrei essa informação: V-79-57344-65072 - The database server is not responding. Backup set canceled. Tenho dúvidas sobre esse problema. O que poderia ter causado isso? Existe alguma ação para que isso não acontença novamente? Aguardo um retorno. I have an external hard drive full of .bkf files made with Veritas BackupExec software in 2008, that I would like to investigate to see if they have backups of files that have since been overwritten. We stopped using that software prior to 2010 and its program files have long since disappeared. The disk has Changer.cfg and Folder, cfg files. Anyone know how to examine/recover old .bkf files without paying further (or at most minimal) tribute to Veritas? Thanks!762Views0likes1CommentBacking up Active Directory: V-79-57344-33928 - (AD LDS) database was not found.
Hello, We have this error from time to time, but it usually fixes itself without any end user intervention. However I am getting this error three nights in a row now on one of our domain controllers. This started happening on Wed morning, and continued through Friday morning. In all three instances the error message in the log is: Job ended: Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 1:18:54 AM Completed status: Failed Final error: 0xe0008488 - Access is denied. Final error category: Security Errors For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-33928 Errors Click an error below to locate it in the job log Backup- \\dc1.domain.com\System?State V-79-57344-33928 - Unable to complete the operation for the selected resource using the specified options. The Active Directory, Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) or Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS) database was not found. So I checked the selections and under the server in question, I can see System State > Active Directory > C:_WINDOWS_NTDS, and this is all checked off. I did a test Resource Credentials for everything in this backup and it all returnedsuccessfulso I'm at a loss. Under Settings > Microsoft Active Directory for this job properties we have all three boxes checked (GRC, Consistency Check, Continue if Consistency check fails.) Backup method is greyed out, but says Full - Back up entire Active Directory. Good Day Using backup exec 12.5 SP5 on Win2003 server with HP Ultrium 3 SCSI tape device. Our LTO3 tapes only get half used but indicate full. Tried software compression on/off - no difference.
