Are archives files included or excluded in backups with Veritas NetBackup™ for PostgreSQL ?
Hi, Could you confirm us if archive files are included when you run a backup or restore ? if I read backup ( https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/doc/129277259-150015228-0/v129903049-150015228) or restore doc (https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/doc/129277259-150015228-0/v129957708-150015228) doesn't mention thatarchivedir or archivepath will be included in backup content. Hi everyone, I'm trying to resolve an issue with my netbackup 9.0.0.1 and vmware domain. The beginning of the issue is that we've migrated the VCenter 6.7 to 7 on a new vm with same name/ip/etc. After the migration, the old vcenter was stopped and ours troubles started. When a vmware policy, which worked before the migration, is started, the activity monitor indicates the error 25 cannot connect on socket. it seems to be that nothing has changed before and after the migration on VMware. For this time, we've restarted the old VCenter and stopped the new one, but the policy still goes on error 25. After a lot of research, we've tried to use the "Select manually" and not the "VMware Intelligent policy query" to backup vm. That's working but it's only a workaround because with the lot of machines on the network, we will forget the new ones. For information, the vmware access hosts are the primary server or the media server. The credentials for the vcenter are good and the test query is working good. If you want some logs, tell me. Thanks for your reading.1.2KViews0likes6CommentsHow to Backup MS Window clusters
What extra work or differences to backup a cluster than back up regular servers ? If there are three nodes in it, only one node or shared file systems on it will be available, when I back up the cluster, should I just back up the active server or file systems? Do I need to back up those not active nodes as well? What issues it would cause if I just back up three respective nodes as the way for backing up the luster? As you can tell now, I am seeking for a steps how we should back up a Window Cluster? I am new to NB backup, and I am more like a Storage admin. In addition, there are several shared data LUNs assigned to each server. There is also a lun called "quorum" for each cluster, only one "witness " lun for one of clusters. What is this "quorum" for? and What is "witness" lun for? Thank you for your inputs!1.4KViews0likes8Commentsindividual emails preserve and protect
We have large 2016 Exchange server environment with around 15000 mailboxs, currently we are running full database backup daily with granular enabled to pure disk pool then duplicate to tapes for second offsite copies. it is getting more and more difficulty to back up around total 30 TB data daily, search and restore individual emails also difficulty and time costing. We are using NetApp AFF storage, we plan to use Single Mailbox Recovery tool (OnTrack based), but seems not perfect solution as well. any NetBackup related or third party solution will be welcome. thanks in advance.906Views0likes2Comments
