NIC Teaming Slow Throughput, any ideas?
Hey guys, We currently have 2Gig set up through NIC teaming for our backup exec setup. When we have backups running, it barely reaches 35-40% of the bandwith. I am using Backup Exec 2010. Has anyone else here set up NIC teaming before? What are some things that might cause slow performance? Are there any specific settings in Backup Exec that may help? Thanks!5.2KViews3likes9CommentsRestoring Active Directory to a different server Backup Exec 2014
Hello All I'm in the process of writing and testing a DR plan, but I have limited resources. I have an 2 Hyper-v Host one with a virtualised domain controller (vDC) and the second one is DR Hyper -V host. I've done GRT backups using the agents of the vDC but I want to restore to system state (with active directory) to the DR VM. Both Hyper-V hosts are on different networks but share the same media server. I'm not worried about hardware conficts as they are VMs or the Authoritative Restore as covered here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/cc961934.aspx But how do I get this data to the DR VM? Many Thanks Note: The DR VM is an older copy of the vDC with all the services and roles working.Solved4.2KViews2likes13Commentsbackup Performence

Hi, I am using a Dell Poweredge R710 connected to a Drobo 800i SAN that has the Deduplication drive configured to 4TB. I'm in the process of configuring BUE 2012 on all of our servers. When I am going through the job logs I noticed that even though I am getting reports showing completed and "Successful" backups to the Dedupe drive I get the following message on every "successful" job: Checkpoint restart cannot be applied to the following resource(s): System?StateBackup Exec will not follow mount points, junction points, and symbolic links when the Simplified Disaster Recovery indicator is ON. Drive and media mount requested: 1/22/2013 11:00:08 PM No appendable media could be mounted. Switching to overwrite operation on scratch media. 1) I want to use SRD on my Dedupe backups 2) Drobo is a recognized media for BUE - confirmed with Symantec and Drobo I have searched for answers (noticed someoen else getting told off for that in regards to this question- which was never answered.) I am also getting this error on other backup configured drives that are 1TB in size. Please note- the only other references I found references to tape and robotic media- and I do not use either. How do I eleiminate this error without eliminating the SRD? Thank you Ken1.9KViews2likes6CommentsBE Agent backwards compatibility
I'm moving to a new BE2012 server from BE2010. Due to hardware issues (HBA needs to be moved from old server to new) and large number of servers, I'd like to upgrade the agents to 2012 incrementally and once they are all done, move the hba and start using 2012. Will 2012 Agents work with 2010, or will I have to do all the upgrades and move the HBA all at once?Solved1.3KViews2likes6CommentsDoes More than one Techn work at Symantec?????

Hi Everyone, I’ve got all in one Exchange Server 2007 SP1 RU3 that got all in one role installed (HT-CAS-MBx) in Windows Server 2003 Standard R2 SP which is also running as domain controller with all FSMO role. I’m planning to migrate all mailbox in the Exchange Server 2007 into the Exchange Server 2010 Standard that I have prepared in my Virtual Machine of Windows Server 2008 R2. In my current Exchange Server 2007 SP1 I've backed up the mailbox using Backup Exec 2010 in case i can just restore the backed up mailbox into the new server 2010 if possible. (Please also note that this Exchange Server 2007 SP1 got so many problem like – OOF email error in Outlook 2007, meeting scheduler stopped working, etc… therefore updating it into SP3 is not the way here) Any kind of help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
