hi, i have used a tap system but before few day my tap is not working condition. So i have create a backup in folder drive. but i have not idea how to create backup in folder. So please any Boddy Help Me.

Netbackup exluding many folders form backup
Hello Team, Thanks in advance for all your help. I have Netbackup server and from it we are taking file server backup. During restoring of files, we found many files and folders are not backuped up with Netbackup. After analyzing, I found issue with NTFS permission. I have one Security groups which dont have access to that folders which I have used for backup. Now thing is I have many file servers and I dont have any details on which folder this group dont have permission. So looking for detailed backup report from Netbackup where files are folder are not included in backup due to permission issues. Please help on this. Regards, Yogesh Makwana

Synthetic Backups
We curently have arounf 50tb of files on our file server, split over various jobs that are Full to tape and Incrementals to disk (and duplicated to tape). I want to move to disk based for all the fulls (synthetic) with duplication to tape. 1. Would the synthetic full from disk to tape be any quicker than going directly to tape? 2. Would the synthetic full fromtape to tape be any quicker than going directly to tape? 3. Could incrementals run whilst the synthetic full was being run or would it be superseded - (I want to increase the frequency of incrementals) thanks!

Exchange Catalog Job Failure - 0xe00002f7 Cannot Extract Mailbox - VFF Open Failure
Using BE 2014 and its driving me nuts. One of the Exchange Incremental Backup keeps failing! It has been fine for a while. Other databases on the same server dont seem to return this error. Completed status: Failed Final error: 0xe00002f7 - Cannot extract mailbox messages from the Exchange backup. Review the job log for more information. Final error category: Resource Errors Catalog- \\MAIL01.X.ORG\Microsoft Information Store\X Mailstore V-79-57344-759 - Unable to complete the operation for the following reason: VFF Open Failure. This can be caused by low memory or disk resources. I tried these and it did not help. Storage Expiration Settings for Synthetic Backups
I'm creating a synthetic full backup job on Backup Exec 15. I'm only interested in keeping the synthesized full backup and the incrementals that follow it before they get rolled into the next syntheticbackup at the end of the week. What should I set for the storage expiration for the full, incremental, and synthetic full backups? I'm doing an incremental backup every weeknight (M-F) and then on Saturday I'm creating the synthetic full. I want to keep the incrementals only until the synthetic full is created at the end of the week, and then I no longer need them. And the synthetic full only needs to be kept for a week -- once the next week's synthetic full is created, I no longer need the previous weeks'. The bottom line is that at any time I only need one full backup of my data on disk (that I may duplicate to removable storage). Also, since I need to do the initial full backup only once, how do I create the backup job and schedule it to run the full backup once without a recurring schedule? BackupExec 2014 - No writable idle devices available
Hello, I'm needing some help with what to me is a strange issue. I have several jobs which were queued but not running even though they should have completed. I found thatthe spoold service was stuck or hung in a starting condition.After searching the forums before I tried anything, I re-started the server and this time the spoold service is no longer hung. All services are running correctly. Now I'm getting a Job Status of Ready; No writable idle devices are available. Also when I go to the storage tab I find that everything is online except Deduplication disk storage 0001 of the Robotic library says it is offline. I am using BE2014 v14.1 rev 1786 64-bit on a Dell PowerEdge R320 Server running Windows 2012 R2 Server Standard (full installation) 64-bit. I appreciate any help that I can get for this issue. I'm not sure what other information anyone may need. I'll be happy to try andsupply any information needed. Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Differental Backups w/Modified Time does Full Backup
I recently switched our backups from using the archive bit to using the Modified time instead. The idea was that modified times are supposed to be faster than checking each archive bit. I've since run one Full backup using the Modified time settings, and now our differentials are all performing full backups each time they run. The Full and Differential jobs are both set to use time stamps(they are under the same parent job), but it seems like the Modified Time is being completely ignored. The files are stored on a Hitachi NAS unit and shared as CIFs folders. A Backup Exec agent cannot be installed on it.I recieve an error each time this unit is backed up due to this(full, incremental, or diff), though the files backup successfully. Backups are direct to tape via fiber channel. Can I not make use of modified times to backup this server, or do I need some additional configuration?

BE 2010 won't use empty disk folder
Hello and thanks in advance for any help you might be. Problem: BE 2010 keeps trying to backup to a full disk folder when I have another disk folder empty. I just inheirited this setup and am new to BE. I have tried to google this problem but have not been able to find an answer. Under the Devices tab I have 4 disk based backup devices defined. Simply Disk-Folder-1, ... Disk-Folder-4. Folders 1-3 are full, folder 4 is empty. I have a media set called VMware-Incremental I have a job that uses VMware-incremental. The job keeps trying to backup to Disk-Folder-2 which is full, how do I tell it to use 4? I'm at a loss to determine how to tell whatmedia set uses what device. Any Help will be greatly appreciated.

Actual amount of data Replicated through AIR
Is there any way we can find out the actual amount of data that is being transferred through WAN (AIR) from Onestie site to Other site. I referred the replication.log on the storage server .but calculating each CR-sent is time taking and Opscenter SLP report is showing only the total size of the image not the actual transferredsize. For an example :Client A backup is 5TB &stored into de-dup disk pool and its 90% de-duplicated .this backup images are replicated to DR site long back ago which took more than a week to complete 5 TB transfer. For the same Client A -recent backup completed with 98 % de-dup,when i try to replicate the currentimage its completed in 2 hours ,that means only the changes since last replicated data was transferred over WAN or the entire 5 TB was transferred ?

Hola como estan? Mi nombre es Emanuel. Estoy buscando un esquema a mi actual infraestructura en crecimiento, tengo un servidor de Symantec Backup Exec trabajando en un sitio con su respectiva infraestructura y hoy estoy armando otra infraestructura fuera de sitio con otro servidor de Symantec y no encuentro un esquema compatible o cual es mi mejor opcion para replicar mi backup sea a disco o cinta, o a un disco deduplicado, o cual sea las opciones o esquemas que Symantec Back Exec me pueda ofrecer para que trabajen mis 2 servidores juntos
