EV 11.0.1Backup Exec 15
I am trying to configure BE15 to work with EV11, but I can't find any documentation on how to setup backups correctly. I found how to do it with NetBackup and other older versions of BE but nothing related to BE15 specifically. I have the agents licensed correctly, however, when I attempt to deploy an agent to the EV server I can only install a "Windows Agent". I am not sure if that's correct or not because BE sees the server as a regular server after installation. Some Symantec documentation mentions the ability to expand "Enterprise Vault" section during backup job config but it's missing when attempting to configure the job. After the installation of the agent on the SQL server hosting EV DBs it shows up as "Directory" in the BE Console. How do I backup my open and closed/ready partitions seperately? How do I backup index locations? Very frustrating...
Restore complete Enterprise vault
I have NetBackup env as below: Master Server: NBU 7.6.1 OS: RHEL 6.6 Media Server: NBU 7.6.1.1 OS Suse/NBU 5230 Appliance And the below Enterprise vault environment: Front End: Cluster EV: 11.0.1.3527 OS: Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise Back End: Cluster MSSQL: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 OS: Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise We are in the process of migrating all the Physical servers to Virtual. So I want to take a full backup of the front End enterprise vault servers (Physical) which i already haveand restore everything (only EV application) to the virtual server. Please note the SQL database has already been moved successfully. Can anyone advice on how to plan it? Thanks.
Vault - Duplication job is skipping some images
Hi In my environment, Vault profiles are configured for Duplicating the backup images from my disk to tape., Everyday VAULT profile is configured to run using the respective Vault Type Backup policy., Everyday my vault job is getting failed with "306" error code and the respective Duplication jobs are getting partially successful with the below output., 03/24/2015 22:59:03 - Error bpduplicate (pid=25238) Status = successfully duplicated 323 of 348 images. 03/24/2015 22:59:03 - Error bpduplicate (pid=25238) Status = the requested operation was partially successful. 03/24/2015 22:59:03 - end Duplicate; elapsed time 2:52:16 the requested operation was partially successful (1) When i search in the vault session logs., i can see the file named as "failed.images" file., 16:00:18 INF - Duplicating policy xxxxxxxxxxxxxx schedule Full backup id xxxxxxxx copy 1 created on 03/13/2015 21:00:06 on source path @aaaac 16:00:19 INF - Waiting for mount of media id DR0113 on server xxxxxxxxxxx for writing. 16:00:22 INF - Beginning duplicate on server xxxxxxxxxxx of client xxxxxxxxxxx, reading file @aaaac. 16:01:05 INF - Beginning duplication on server xxxxxxxxxxxxx of client xxxxxxxxxxx, creating copy 2 on destination media id DR0113 16:01:24 INF - host xxxxxxxxxxxx backup id xxxxxxxxxx read failed, media manager killed by signal (82). 16:01:24 INF - host xxxxxxxxxx backupid xxxxxxxxxx write failed, media manager killed by signal (82). 16:01:24 INF - Duplicate of backupid xxxxxxxxxx failed, media manager killed by signal (82). Am getting the above error in the vault session logs output., But when i manually duplicate the image its getting successful., Can you please advise us on why some of the backup images are getting skipped on day to day basis.,??Also we are different backup images skipping on day to day basis., NBU master server version is 7.5.0.6 Running in LINUX platform "Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.6 (Santiago)"
Will NetBackup client 7.6.0.3 work with Enterprise Vault 8.0.5.1048
Hello, We have recently upgraded our master and media servers to Netbackup 7.6.0.3. We are runing Enterprise Vault8.0.5.1048 andwould like to upgrade the netbackup client software on our Enterprise Vault servers from 7.5.0.6 to 7.6.0.3. I have checked the software compatibilty guide and I think it mentions that 7.6 supports EV version7.5, 8.0, 9.0 10.0 howeverthere is note at the bottom mentioning "1. NetBackup 7.6 and later does not support this Backup or Archiving Product.". This has put me in doubt as I need to be sure of the compatibilty before upgrading. Does anyone know if NBU 7.6.0.3 will support EV8.0.5.1048. Thanks
