Hi all just a simple question: does Netbackup agent for Sharepoint truncate the SQL Tlogs? by reading white-paper, blueprints and technote it's seems that not Full nor Incr do this... Thanks

slow sharepoint backup
Hello I have an issue with a Sharepoint GRT backup with NBU 7.6.1.2. SharePoint Restore shows only Root Site Collection
Hello, we're using NetBackup in the current version 7.6.1.2 to backup a SharePoint 2013 SP1 single server environment running on VMware. After struggling somewhile around to get the backup working - in the end we were experiencing the problem that the SharePoint Farm key did not get created automatically - god knows why. (Solved with - http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH203759). Now the backup finishes without any error. Now we have the problem that in the GRT restore selection only the root site collection is showing up. Anyway we have more then 20 sitecollections, all in the same Content Database, which are not showing up. All site collections are created as hostnamed site collection. Could someone point me in the right direction what could be the reason for our problem? Thanks in advance. Matthias

Hi Looks like the manual implies there is not need for seperate MS-SQL backups as they automating included in the policy type - MS-SharePoint ....a correct assumption?

About Supported Configurations for MS Sharepoint on Netbackup
Hi all, Recently, our company has implemented MS Sharepoint system for file sharing purpose. We have another centralized backup server implemeted using Netbackup 7.6. The mentioned Sharepoint system is also made use of the centralized backup server to backup the database records. However, the implementation vendor reported that database recovery cannot perform in transactional base but only a full recovery at the time of backup can be done. Our configuration is listed below for reference. Backup Server: Windows 2012 Server with Netbackup 7.6 MS Sharepoint system: Sharepoint 2013 with SQL Server 2014 I have found a footnote under NetBackup Database and Application Agent Compatibility List which state as follows. "SharePoint databases are not supported if the SharePoint server is configured to use a SQL Server 2014 instance." I just want to know if there is any workaround so that transactional base recovery for the above configuration can be done. Otherwise, is there any roadmap on the mentioned Sharepoint configuration to be supported in the future release of Netbackup? Mark Leung

Sharepoint Incremental backup finishing partially Status 1.
Hello again guys, Master W2K8 7.5.0.7 Media Linux SuSe 11 SP2 7.5.0.7 FEWS and BESQL Windows 2008 Standard R2 I have got everything working hunky dory till last week and now sharepoint incremental backups are finishing partially. Full, GRT and VMware Sharepoint backups all working fine. It's just the incrementals that reports status 1. I have checked bpbkar logs, bpresolvers logs on both FEWS and Backend SQL but couldn't find anything.. MS-Sharepoint GRT AllWebs Backup failing with 69 and SharePoint Resources with 71..
Hello again community Friends, Sharepoint problem NBU Master 7.5.0.7 W2K8 64bit NBU Media 7.5.0.7 SuSe 10 SP2 Linux 64bit as Proxy Server Sharepoint FEWS 2010 W2K8 SP 1 7.5.0.7 Sharepoint SQL Backend W2K8 SP 2 7.5.0.7 All backups Standard (Microsoft Sharepoint Resources:\), GRT (Microsoft Sharepoint Resources:\AllWebs) and Sharepoint VMware used to work. Standard and GRT backups have stopped working and failing with 71 and 69 respectively. All settings, permissions are there and sharepoint utility SPCT reports all green. Restore (GRT) from Sharepoint VMWARE Backup
Friends, NBU Master 7.5.0.6 W2K8 64bit NBU Media 7.5.0.6 SuSe 10 SP2 Linux 64bit as Proxy Server Sharepoint FEWS 2010 W2K8 SP 1 Sharepoint SQL Backend W2K8 SP 2 Just got the sharepoint vmware backup working both ASC jobs completed successfully for FEWS and BackEnd SQL. I understand in order to do FLR out of Sharepoint VMWARE backup the restore process is still the same as restoring from a standard sharepoint agent backup. So when i select the server name and policy type MS-Sharepoint in the BAR gui it doesnt show me the sharepiont vmware backup? Has anyone seen this problem before?

Sharepoint Application State Capture Failing with error 13 & 130.
Hello again friends, Trying to backup shareopint using vmware policy with enable sharepoint recovery option but having no luck.. application state capture job failing on FEWS with error 13.. i had seen this problem before but upgrading to 7.5.0.7 fixed the issue but it seems to have been returned..
