RMAN restore failing with ORA-27191: sbtinfo2 returned error
Hello, The DBAs are doing an RMAN restore which was taken on server 1 seprdu05. They are trying to restore on server 2 seppuu03. Both clients are Solaris 10 machines with oracle database 11.2.0. The master server is RHEL 5.9. The netbackup master server version is 7.5.0.7 The netbackup client version is 7.5.0.4 The error is as below: Oracle instance shut down RMAN-00571: =========================================================== RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS =============== RMAN-00571: =========================================================== RMAN-03002: failure of Duplicate Db command at 08/16/2015 06:57:26 RMAN-05501: aborting duplication of target database RMAN-03015: error occurred in stored script Memory Script ORA-27191: sbtinfo2 returned error Additional information: 3480 On the client, nothing is reported in the netbackup logs: /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/user_ops/dbext/logs/ It seems that the error "Additional information: 3480" would come from the MML (Media Manager Layer). Is there any logs on the master server that could give more details wether the RMAN job has interacted with netbackup so far? Any sugestion would be very helpful.27KViews0likes4CommentsOracle restore: ORA-19573: cannot obtain exclusive enqueue for datafile

Hi I am trying to configure RMAN backup. Followed below mentioned steps: 1. Created Backup policy on master server for RMAN backup--- Shell script path is mentioned in Backup selection. And selected traget unit as LTO3 tape drive. 2. Shell script is prepared on client for RMAN backup But still I am getting Error (6). Sharing the script fyi: ORACLE_HOME=/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1 PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$PATH ORACLE_SID=crm export ORACLE_HOME PATH ORACLE_SID rman << EOF connect target sys/sys run { ALLOCATE CHANNEL ch00 TYPE 'SBT_TAPE'; configure controlfile autobackup on; configure controlfile autobackup format for device type 'SBT_TAPE' ; backup database plus archivelog; BACKUP CURRENT CONTROLFILE ; release channel ch00; } EOF The problem here is this script run with oracle login perfectly and failed when trying to tun through backup policy. Also sharing logs i found in /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/bphdb cat obk_stdout.090610 Recovery Manager: Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production on Mon Sep 6 14:31:07 2010 Copyright (c) 1982, 2007, Oracle. I keep receiving the error message in the title even though I have gone through and set my timeout settings to at least 900 seconds. I have also run all the bpclntcmd commands and all of them return appropriately. Is the 60 second timeout referred to in the error message a client side OS setting? I am running Red-Hat 5. Thanks6.3KViews0likes7CommentsBacking up Oracle databases configured using Data Guard
Ok, so I'm not huge into Netbackup (NBU), or Oracle, but our backup group has been dragged into issue, and I have been recruited to help solve it. We are running NetBackup 7.6.0.1. Its going mostly well. We are doing file level backups successfully, and oracle backups successfully using our RMAN catalog and such. However, we have recently been tasked to back up an Oracle database that has been configured with data guard. This means this: There are two databases, with two different SIDs The databases are identical, configured as such that if one database fails, the other database covers as a failover database One database is the Primary database, and one is set as the Standby database We have NetBackup set up to backup both databases. When the backups run, the Primary database succeeds with no issues. The secondary database fails with (5407) Database is in the wrong state (must be OPEN) for the requested action So, here are the difficulties: Netbackup requires an instance name when setting up a oracle instance for backup - which should be equal to the SID. We could just rely on our TNSNAMES.ora file to connect to the proper instance, but since NBU requires the SID when setting up the instance, and the primary and standby databases have different SIDs we cannot rely on the TNSNAME alone We don't manage the databases set up in the data guard configuration, so there is no way to tell if a failover event occurs until we get a failed backup on the main backup, which is not ideal There should be a way to have one policy in NetBackup that covers this Oracle DB setup. We should be able to back up whatever database is currently the "Primary" without worrying about ORACLE_SIDs. Let me know if I need to provide more info for this issue to be discussed.Solved5.9KViews1like8Comments
