Hello everybody, I have a landscape with SAP server separated by media server. I purchased SAP agent, installed it and copied to folder where SAP is installed. If I launch the backup job from DB13, it fails when executing the BACKINT program. The command line is this: backint.exe -u SID -f backup -i E:\oracle\SID\sapbackup\.bekiiuqx.lst -t file -p E:\usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\nuc\NTAMD64\biparam.ini -c My content of biparam.ini is: [General] Server= SERVER-IP Job Name=Backup SAP side - [Backup] Backup Catalog=off Job Template=DEFAULT and this is located in the path specified before, in initSID.sap with the parameter "util_par_file" The return error code is 2, and it says me: "Unable to connect to Backup Exec server: \\SERVER-IP" I checkedthisdocument, and all that point are checked. So, how can I check the connection for backint and find the error? Thank you1.1KViews0likes3CommentsHow to configure biparam.ini for SAP
Hi all, I'm using Backup Exec 2010 to perform backup of my SAP installation. The media server and the SAP server are separated. I got the things working (from SAP I can submit database job), but I can't configure parameters of the backup jobs properly. Because I didn't find the config file installed (biparam.ini), i googled that to search the options and checked the manual, but I can't figure how to set thing like backup method, priority and so on, because in the DBA-initiated job settings there are no those. Also, I tried to create a policy with name "DEFAULT", but I can't see that in the job setup. Can anyone help me please? Hi, My media server is running Backup Exec 2010 R3 on a Windows 2008 OS. I have purchased & installed the SAP Agent license on the media server. I have an SAP server that is running on Suse Linux OS. I have installed Backup Exec RALUS on the said server. Does anyone know if Symantec has an SAP Agent that installs on a Linux OS such that the backint and biparam.ini files will become available and I can configure the SAP backup jobs from brtools to backint and, using the biparam.ini file, pass the data to be backed up onto the tape library connected to the media server? I cannot find any information like this in the Backup Exec Admin Guide. That document is very Windows-centric. Please help. Thank you.674Views0likes3CommentsSetup backup SAP online_conse *.anf

Hi guys, Another question here, with regards to the licenses that the new Backup Exec 2012 have. It states that SBE has a maximum of 3 licenses that can be purchased once required. It also states that the license you can purchase are only limited to Agent for Windows, Agent for Linux and Agent for MAC. Is the Agent for Apps and DB also available for purchased for the BE2012 SBE?Solved1.2KViews0likes5CommentsBE2012 Agent for SAP (EOL)
Hi everyone Today, I read in the Software Compatibility List of Backup Exec 2012 that the Agent for SAP has reach end-of-life and is no longer supported with BE2012 (page 48). On the other hand, there is also a note that SAP is supported by BE Server 32-bit and 64bit (page 33-35, Symantec and 3rd Party Software Compatibility 64-bit and 32-bit Interoperability). Unfortunately, I'm a little confused now. Can anybody tell me if there will be a possibility to backup and restore SAP systems with BE2012 (in a similar way it was possible in BE2010)? Thanks!731Views0likes6CommentsRestoring Full DB + Archive logs (SAP agent / oracle backend)

Hello everyone, I just impelemented a SAP Agent (BE 2010 R2 SP1 + all HFs)and the corresponding backup. We now noticed that the selection lists, created by the SAP backup jobs, do not get deleted and fill up the list in Backup Exec. Is this normal behavior, and can we somehow keep BE from doing so? Thanks in advance for your help! best regards DominikSolved530Views0likes1Comment
