Exchange Mailbox Archiving Report coming in 10.0.2- Give us your thoughts!
Hi, I'm very very happy to tell you of a great new feature we are delivering in Enterprise Vault 10.0.2. In this release we are delivering Exchange Archiving Reports which are generated whenever Exchange Mailbox archiving takes place.The reports are available during and at the end of the run. 3 reports are generated, brief, full and .csv. Each report will detail every mailbox on the Exchange server, and what archiving(if any) took place. Below is screenshot of a brief report and attached is examples of brief, full and .csv. The full report has many more columns, the .csvis a close representation of full butmeans you could put the data into excel if you wish and process it accordingly. In addition to these reports, a new event log entryis generated at the end of the run giving you a summary of what took place. The summary is also available from the properties of the archiving task and you can access these reportsvia that or on diskas well. If you take a look at theattach files you'll see that the fields all have "hover over" text explaining what they mean, in addition to this the report will link to a tech note giving further details. We are making final tweaksand would love to hear your feedback as soon as possible. Enterprise Vault - PST Import button prompts for authentication
I am preparing for a company roll out of EV client and will be using the PST imnport feature. During initila deployment to 20 machines - 3 out of 4 users enabled for PST import are prompted for credentials when clicking the PST button in EV toolbar and also at intervals during normal Outlook usage. The one machine where this is working has allowed me to make a comparision of network streams using wireshark to analyse capture from netMon. The key seems to be that a session cookie is not being set on the machines that have this issue. The issue is machine based as it stays with the machine independent of the users that logs on. The below is a comparison of 2 tcp streams - the left one on 484 works and the cookie is being set - the right hand causes the authentication popup to be displayed and no cookie is set. I have checked all IE settings and permissions for cookies and removed all group policies from test machine& reset IE to Defauts etc.., but still get this issue. I am at a loss to find differences between these 2 test machines as they have the same build. Outlook 2010, EV 11, IE11 and IE9, Exchange 2013 (In exchange resouirce forest) Really need some help here!
Issue backing up EV9.04 with NBU 7.5
Hello, We are backing up our EV 9 with NBU 7.5, the following way: - using the EV agent to backup the indexes - using an MS-Windows policy to backup the Open Partition and triggerring the databases backup (sql dump) with the bpstart_notify. (We know this isn't ideal but we cannot use the EV agent for everything as our sql server is Win2K12 and still unsupported by NBU) We are doing a FULL BKP every weekend and a Differential inc daily. The issue we are having is that the daily diff backup of the open partition is "bigger" and "bigger" (volume and time) as long as the week goes. It seems to me like it backs up the same volume of data that's on the partition. We also get the famous "There are 477172 savesets that have not yet been backed up or replicated for Vault Store" msg. In the VaultStore properties, The last scan started shows yesterday after backup completed, but Last item Secured shows Saturday (4 days ago, after the FUll Backup completed) The VaultStore is configured to use the archive bit. I read that differential backups in NBU do clearthe archive bit correctly so I don't understand what is wrong. Many thanks in advance for your help and sorry for this somewhat long description.
