Symantec Backup Too Long time than Usual
HI, We are using Symantec System Recovery 2013 in Winserver 2008. We face the following problem when taking backup. 1. The server CPU usage shoots upto 100% when Harddisk (1TB with more than 500 GB free space) is connected and Symantec Backup sequence is initiated. 2. The selection of drives doesnt come up immediately but takes 5-6 mins. 3. After selection of drives and confirming backup location, when i click "Run Back up Now", the system takes around 15-20 minutes for starting the backup process. 4. This also happens only when my CPU usage comes down to normal say 20..25%..!!! Is Symantec software causing the CPU to hang? Or is it vice-versa? During normal time, the server behaves OK and CPU usage is close to 5% or so. Can anyone guide me why this happens?705Views0likes3CommentsGeeting NTLDR error after restoring BESR Image on 2003 server

We have a W2k3 workgroup server with BackupExec 9.1 already installed and backing up the server to tape. My question is I have Symantec System Recovery 2010 and would like to install this on the server also and schedule a monthly disk-based backup across our network in the image format used. Are there any co-existence issues with the two? The server is also running SQL Server 2000.277Views0likes2CommentsBackup exec 12.5 & system restore 8.5 to the same NAS NOT WORKING

I installed BESR, 2010 (live update says it is up to date) on a Windows server 2003SBS SP2 and I backup to a disk RDX 320GB connected via USB (letter F:). The single daily backup, took my 2 partitions C: (system and exchange) and D (customer data). The backup is always going well and I have (among others) my 2 files (serveur-2003_C_Drive001.v2i and serveur-2003_D_Drive001.v2i) present on the RDX. When I do a granular recovery, the software gives me +C: and +D: I can browse the directory of C:, but when I click on D:, the RDX cartridge is ejected without error message. When I do a restore on another PC by booting with the Recovery Disk CD, I always have the same problem: the RDX cartridge is ejected and a message appear. I am asked to insert the cartridge N ° 2, containing the file "serveur-2003_D_Drive001_s01.v2i" (backup size =29Go (C:) + 85Go (D:) on a single 320Go cartridge and I have no file "serveur-2003_D_Drive001_s01.v2i") Please, help meSolved485Views0likes2CommentsProblème de restauration avec BESR 2010
D'avance MerciSolved1.2KViews0likes11CommentsInstaller continues to run BESR 2010 SBS 2008
Hi All, I have an issue with SBS 2008 and BESR 2010. There were some installation issues that caused us to have to piece together an installation. I had to use Windows Cleanup Utility, grant permissions to registry keys and finally I was able to uninstall and reinstall BESR 2010. I can get the backup to run now, but the installer for BESR 2010 continues to run, command line continues to flash windows and the installation bar goes down to the end like it is finished, but starts over again and again and will say(not exact): Some files and services cannot be updated while the server is running and will require a reboot. Again, this is not exact but it is something close to that. You can click ok to reboot, but it never does. It continues to run the installer over and over again. The weird thing is, I was able to get the backups to run successfully, although it was bandaged together, it still will run. Question is: How do I get the installer to stop running constantly?535Views0likes4CommentsBESR 2010 restore on SBS 2008 computer name change
Hello Support, Thanx for all the help i've received in this forum. i really apreciate you all. i really need help now. i have installed BESR 2010 when it was newly released (version 9.0.0 2----- not sure exactly) and i was able to restore the recovery points i created on Windows 2003 and 2008 server and Windows 7 on desktops and laptops. I don't really have the BESR download any longer because i deleted the file last moth when i downloaded the latest version 9.0.1 36527. Installing this version and creating a recovery point on an SBS 2008 server and Windows 2008 servers for a client. To be used in the event of a disaster. i get the following display at logon "The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship". I cannot login to the SBS server using the domain credentials. I get a .\Administrator (this obviously wants a local administrator password which i don't have on the DC). I can only login to the SBS server using the domain credentials from safe mode. I try the file server and other servers on the network which also have their recovery points created and restored. i get the same login to local computer. Though on these other servers i can login using the domain credentials, but i notice that the computer names for all of the servers have changed. I was not getting this situation when i had the very first version of BESR 2010. It is strange because i checked one of the recovery points i have from the old version and i see there is a System Reserved drive (about 100MB) created. i tested a restore using this recovery point and the computer name is not changed. This updated BESR 2010 does not have any System Reserved drive created. I really want to know why the computer names have changed. I do not intend to connect these restored servers to the network to avoid IP address conflicts. I do not also intend to change the computer names as the original computers still exist on the domain. I hope i have not bored you with my note. i contacted some friends and they wanted to know if i had used VSS during the recovery point. This i did while creating the recovery point. I also tested with manually starting the VSS service before creating another one. Is there any document to specify step by step what need s to be done before i create the recovery point to avoid a computer name change? Also to aid in logging on to this SBS 2008 restored server? I will be very grateful if i can get a response. I noticed some other users have encountered similar issue with the computer name change, yet no response has been forth coming in resolving this. thank you so very much.Solved1.4KViews0likes7Comments
