Symantec Backup Too Long time than Usual
HI, We are using Symantec System Recovery 2013 in Winserver 2008. We face the following problem when taking backup. 1. The server CPU usage shoots upto 100% when Harddisk (1TB with more than 500 GB free space) is connected and Symantec Backup sequence is initiated. 2. The selection of drives doesnt come up immediately but takes 5-6 mins. 3. After selection of drives and confirming backup location, when i click "Run Back up Now", the system takes around 15-20 minutes for starting the backup process. 4. This also happens only when my CPU usage comes down to normal say 20..25%..!!! Is Symantec software causing the CPU to hang? Or is it vice-versa? During normal time, the server behaves OK and CPU usage is close to 5% or so. Can anyone guide me why this happens?
Geeting NTLDR error after restoring BESR Image on 2003 server
Hi All, I took theBESR backup only for C:\ and restore ondiffrent harware but after restoration i am getting NTLDR errorbooting theserver after completion the restoration. Requesting you to please suggest mesolution for the same. Regards Charanjeet
Symantec System Recovery 2010 and Veritas BackupExec 9.1 on same server
We have a W2k3 workgroup server with BackupExec 9.1 already installed and backing up the server to tape. My question is I have Symantec System Recovery 2010 and would like to install this on the server also and schedule a monthly disk-based backup across our network in the image format used. Are there any co-existence issues with the two? The server is also running SQL Server 2000.
Backup exec 12.5 & system restore 8.5 to the same NAS NOT WORKING
Help!! I a having a problem with a server it is win server 03 running exchange sql and I am backing to a single nas drive. The data up with backup exec 12.5 with the sql add in and Exchange add in and also using system restore to allow for quick recovery to a virtual pc for disaster recovery. there is no overlap in the time window of the to jobs but every week or so system restore just fails to run with this message Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup of (C:\), Data (E:\). at the present time I have a server 2010 symantec backupexec version 13.0, was created a new server with windows server 2008 R2 and in this setup the media server, I need to know how I can import the configuration and encryption key from one server to another, or maybe I should redo the settings in the new server, I'm new to this area ifanyone can help I would appreciate greatly.Installer continues to run BESR 2010 SBS 2008
Hi All, I have an issue with SBS 2008 and BESR 2010. There were some installation issues that caused us to have to piece together an installation. I had to use Windows Cleanup Utility, grant permissions to registry keys and finally I was able to uninstall and reinstall BESR 2010. I can get the backup to run now, but the installer for BESR 2010 continues to run, command line continues to flash windows and the installation bar goes down to the end like it is finished, but starts over again and again and will say(not exact): Some files and services cannot be updated while the server is running and will require a reboot. Again, this is not exact but it is something close to that. You can click ok to reboot, but it never does. It continues to run the installer over and over again. The weird thing is, I was able to get the backups to run successfully, although it was bandaged together, it still will run. Question is: How do I get the installer to stop running constantly?
