Backup exec 12.5 & system restore 8.5 to the same NAS NOT WORKING
Help!! I a having a problem with a server it is win server 03 running exchange sql and I am backing to a single nas drive. The data up with backup exec 12.5 with the sql add in and Exchange add in and also using system restore to allow for quick recovery to a virtual pc for disaster recovery. there is no overlap in the time window of the to jobs but every week or so system restore just fails to run with this message Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup of (C:\), Data (E:\). Error EBAB0013: A test that safeguards the integrity of the program failed unexpectedly. CHECK failed, Can::GetSafeFrameFileOffset: .\Can.cpp(321): offset != INVALID_FRAME_INDEX. Symantec Backup Too Long time than Usual
HI, We are using Symantec System Recovery 2013 in Winserver 2008. We face the following problem when taking backup. 1. The server CPU usage shoots upto 100% when Harddisk (1TB with more than 500 GB free space) is connected and Symantec Backup sequence is initiated. 2. The selection of drives doesnt come up immediately but takes 5-6 mins. 3. After selection of drives and confirming backup location, when i click "Run Back up Now", the system takes around 15-20 minutes for starting the backup process. 4. This also happens only when my CPU usage comes down to normal say 20..25%..!!! Is Symantec software causing the CPU to hang? Or is it vice-versa? During normal time, the server behaves OK and CPU usage is close to 5% or so. Can anyone guide me why this happens?
Backup Exec System Recovery Management Solution 2010
I am currently using BESRMS 2010. I must say I am not too pleased in this development and have had nothing but problems. I am at the point where it would be more effective for me to connect to each machine and check each backup job. In any case, issue number 5 I have had so far is related to my backup jobs showing the next time to run to be in the past, or even to show NONE. I look at my backup policies which are active, and on. When I am in my computers menu I see all my clients and 80% of them show the last back up and then say "Next backup run time" as NONE, or will show like 3 days ago, or 56 days ago. I hadthis issue open with symantec and they couldn't help me at the time. They had me upgrade the version of BESRMS i have installed and then re-rollout some altiris agents, complete with BESR plug in and BESR 2010 software. This worked for about 3 days and then i started to see issues again. I was curious if anyone else has had the problems such as this and what your solutions have been. With SYMANTEC, i have already ruled out the following: -Network issue -Silverlight display issue -Version issue -IIS issue -configuration issue (in fact we also started a new virtual server and did a fresh install Im open to any suggestionsInstaller continues to run BESR 2010 SBS 2008
Hi All, I have an issue with SBS 2008 and BESR 2010. There were some installation issues that caused us to have to piece together an installation. I had to use Windows Cleanup Utility, grant permissions to registry keys and finally I was able to uninstall and reinstall BESR 2010. I can get the backup to run now, but the installer for BESR 2010 continues to run, command line continues to flash windows and the installation bar goes down to the end like it is finished, but starts over again and again and will say(not exact): Some files and services cannot be updated while the server is running and will require a reboot. Again, this is not exact but it is something close to that. You can click ok to reboot, but it never does. It continues to run the installer over and over again. The weird thing is, I was able to get the backups to run successfully, although it was bandaged together, it still will run. Question is: How do I get the installer to stop running constantly?How to migrate the configuration and encryption key of a server 2010 SBE to other new server
at the present time I have a server 2010 symantec backupexec version 13.0, was created a new server with windows server 2008 R2 and in this setup the media server, I need to know how I can import the configuration and encryption key from one server to another, or maybe I should redo the settings in the new server, I'm new to this area ifanyone can help I would appreciate greatly.
BESR 8.5 Scheduled Conversion to ESX VMDK
Hi We have BESR 8.5 backing up afull recovery point once a week of out SBS 2008 server. For the rest of the week we have incrementals taken once a night. Wewould like to begin scheduling a nightly conversion to ESX VMDK so that if the primary server fails we can bring the virtual machine online with less than a day of data loss. My question is: How does the scheduled conversion work? Does it re-create the VMDK from scratch each time a conversion job is run? Or does BESR have the ability to update the VMDK with only the incremental changes after the nightly incremental? The reason I ask is that our SBS server has over 1TB of data and I'm worried that a restore time may take several days if we need to start from scratch. If anyone has experience or knows of a faster way to restore to a VM (maybe with the recovery CD?)I would be very interesting in hearing about your experiences Any assistance here would be greatly appreciated Adzee
