Starting Out Ghost Solution Suite
I could use a little help/advice on getting started with Ghost Solution Suite 2.5. First off, I have the product installed on my PC and am finishing up one PC to create the image from. All the PC's that'll be receiving the image are identical. Can Ghost Casting be done over Wireless or is Ethernet the only way? How do I ensure the drivers are in my Ghost Boot disc that'll creat for each system? (Windows PE, Deploy Anywhere) Where do I go from here? I've read the forums, but am a little confused, I'm new at using Ghost Solution Suite and we have 175 pc's to image total. I'll be doing this onsite where each site will have about 20 pc's to image. I feel I have the basics down here, create image, create boot disc and include any drivers needed. Open Ghost Cast Server, create session, input location where image is at. Then in the boot disc, select Ghost Cast, enter session.... I haven't gotten any further yet, I'm beginning to set everything up and wanted anypointers/advice someone would provide. That way I can go in strong and have a better understanding. If I put this in the wrong community, I apologize in advance, I'm used to being able to Google whatever troubles I run into.450Views1like0CommentsUnable Access Second Partition After Formatting Primary Partition
I recently had fully encrypted hard disk (Toshiba mq01abd075), operating system (Windows 7 Professional), two partition. C (146 GB) and D (548 GB) and 4 GB Unallocated space. I ran the system restore for partition C, after which I was unable to access the operating system. I reinstalled the operating system partition C. I installed PGP WDE, when I entered in the program, partition D does not appear to be decrypted. Partition D appears in My Computer (0 bytes), in computer management at disk management appear 548 GB RAW. If I double click on it ask me for Format, but i've never click Yes, so the second partition was never touch after the problem. After this I reinstalled twice the OS. Now I have windows 8.1 but stil, but still I have not touch the second partition. I've tried to decrypt the drive with a few tutorials such as(WinPE and put the hard disk as second partition): http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH170574 http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH149478 Give me various errors suchs as: "Could not locate valid BGFS record. Recovey failed! Operation recover disk failed: Error code -11984 item not found" or "Disk 1 is not instrumented by bootguard" and others. I know was my fault. Please give me a solution. Hello, Sorry If I am in the wrong palce, to post this request but I am somewhat new to this. If there is a better place please let me know. We are recieving scattered reports that our website is being flaged as containing a virus. Below is a quotation from one such report. >When updating my contacts I followed the link to >www.worldaccessfortheblind.org and our internet security (by >Semantic) put up a big STOP sign and said this is a known >malicious web site - continue at your peril (so to speak). > >I think this is probably a mistake by Symantec and not much detail >about why except "The Norton rating is a result of Symantec's >automated analysis system." Whatever that means. > >Probably worth looking into with Symantec to get cleared up. We use a commercial hosting service for our website, and their IT manager said the following. For some reason, Symantec's "Norton Internet Security" software is flagging WAFTB's website as a malicious site and is therefore preventing access to it by those who have the Norton Internet Security product installed on their computers. I am not sure what is causing Symantec to do this. There is probably a setting that users of the product can change to allow themselves access toworldaccessfortheblind.org and bypass the security check, but I am not sure how to do it as I have never used Norton Internet Security myself. We would need to contact Symantec and request that they remove WAFTB's domain name from their list of malicious sites and find out why it was blacklisted in the first place. I am trying to find out what we must do to satisfy Symantec's need for a clean website. We are not unwilling to make the necessary chagnes but we need to know what it was about our website that was wrong. None of use Symantec and the reports from the users don't (understandably) provide enough details. Dear sirs. I'm an IT-manager of some <200 users, so I need some info about vomtu DLP module, which stores HTTP-POST and UPLOAD requests, before I would buy it. Now I spent a week while futilly fighting with: 1. Russian desk (call-center routes me nowhere) 2. Some unlucky secretary from ur russian office - who took my contacts, and now she's keeping silence. 3. First 7 "partners" from partners list on ur site. Those "partners" loosing their interest when they understand that I'm not gonna spend $100k for them, so I should persuade them to sell me this damn vomtu? Is there any of you, Symantec, who cares? Thank you.384Views0likes0CommentsProblems with the tech support case submission Web form
I wanted to submit a technical support case for Backup Exec, but the Web form for creating a support case seems to be broken. It's necessary to directly call the 1-800 number to create a case. The actual Backup Exec issue is irrelevant here because (out of necessity) I created a case via phone. The behavior is this: When you get to the account selection page (you've just clicked "I still need help!"), clicking the Next button simply clears the selected check box next to the selected account. If you check "My account is not listed" and enter some details exactly the same thing happens. This is the same behavior I reported the last time I had a technical support issue a few months ago. (I tried reporting it to tech support and wound up with two simultaneous cases about the Backup Exec issue). I experience the same behavior in several different browsers. symantec.com is in trusted sites.Solved712Views0likes2Comments
