Implications of restarting EV services and DA Accelerator services
Hi Environment is EV 9.0.2 We currently restart the following EV services nightly: Enterprise Vault Task Controller Service Enterprise Vault Storage Service Enterprise Vault Shopping Service We do this for historical reasons as we did it in our older EV8 environment, I believe it was to clear up MAPI sessions andkeep the system running more smoothly. Is this still necessary? Does restart these EV services impact DA searches and exports? What's the impact? Does restarting the DA Accelerator service impact DA searches and exports? DA 11 no customer database update
Unfortunately I did not follow these instructions from the beginning. So I started to install a dedicated EV 11 server from the install media by using the install wizard. This server came on top to our 3 server environment with EV 10 (plus additional SQL server), where each server got a dedicated task. One for FSA, one for indexing, one for archiving. In general I wouldn't mix up the EV versions, but as the DA server holds non of the above mentioned services and we are going to upgrade to EV 11 in the near future I decided to install the EV11 basics with DA 11 Then I followed the instructions here above and I could go through it smoothly. I could successfully create a customer database, but interestingly the database is not able to update. Error message in evbaadmin: ExecuteNonQuery requires an open and available Connection. The connection's current state is closed. Event ID 59: APP ATM - Failed to update database. creating different searches in one case and exporting seperate pst's
Hi , i had a criteria where i have to seach for different users based on some criteria under one case and needed to get the pst's seperatley for each case. what i did is created 6 new searches in a single case and accepted all the seaches \then exported which turned out single pst file . do i have to accept each seach speperately and export ? if i needed in single case ? Multiple DA servers in a single EV site
Hi, Looking for input on this question: Customer has a single EV site but 2 EV servers inUS and EU, with local SQL servers used for storing VS DB's inUS and EU. Would like to implement DA serves in both locations. Should I configure 2 separate DA config DB's and 2 customer DB's for US and EU? Is that permitted? Hello. Is Office 365 supported on the DA client computer? The eDiscovery environment is EV and DA 10.0.4 CHF 3. Discover Accelorator - Inaccurate hit counts
TCP Chimney, TCPIP Offload Engine (TOE) or TCP Segmentation Offload (TSO) will cause a transport-level error to be logged resulting in inaccurate hit counts for Accelerator searches Title of Tech Doc http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH55653 Doc states that if you do not turn off these settings you get inaccurate hit counts. Do you need to turn them off on both the EV, DA and SQL servers? Optimization docs want you to turn off the setting on all servers. Does that apply here? What is an inaccurate hit count. Does it mean you are missing documents or are documents double counted? We are running EV & DA 9.01 on server 2003, SQL 2008 on server 2008 R2, I have seen the errors listing in the doc in our event log. FYI. We had the below issue occur twice in different environments. This might or might not be happening to you, but if it does, you know now... Starting situation: Windows 2008 R2 x64 standard edition (EV and SQL server). SQL 2008R2SP2 standard edition, with log-shipping as DR solution (replication). Enterprise Vault 9.0SP4, and DA9SP4 Upgrade DA9SP4 to DA10SP4 - upgrade config-database, upgrade customer-db, verify evbaadmin is ok, verify DA10SP4 client connects ok. Apply CHF1 for DA10SP4 - upgrade etc. Verify DA10SP4CHF1 client connects ok. Logoff. Monitor SQL logshipping. You might see error: The log shipping primary database PROD SQL SERVER\INSTANCE.xxxEVDACM has backup threshold of 60 minutes and has not performed a backup log operation for 61 minutes.
