Client - Media - PureDisk Linux network traffic
Hello everyone. We have a backup solution and I am trying to find a bottleneck. Configuration is as follows: Veritas SFHA clustered Master server running NBU 7.5.0.6 on RHEL6.1. Number of Media servers. And 3 pairs of PureDisk 6.5.5pools as a storage servers. My concern is: How does network traffic flow during backup assuming clientside deduplication is enabled? I tried tcpdump and appears that it is client - media - puredisk and vica-versa. But there arenbstproxy processes. Appreciate on any assistance. Thank you.Solved4.1KViews0likes2CommentsDeduplication : PureDisk software appliance vs 5020 hardware appliance
Hello, There are with Symantec productstwosolutionsto implementglobal deduplication: -a solution based on appliances 5020; -a solution based onyour own hardware servers (where we will install the PureDisk software appliance) and a mid-range storage disk connected on a SAN (for deduplication data). 5020: Pros : easy to install, easy to maintain, one single contact for support Cons : pricing, performance (5020 has SATA disks),hardware upgrade Servers based : Pros : performance (you can use Near-line SAS disks), scalability, reliability Cons : manpower to install and maintain the solution, more contacts for support Can anyone advice me on the best solution ? What are you experiences with the 5020 appliances, with thePureDisk software appliance? Thanks. Regards, Pierre.3.7KViews0likes19CommentsCLI Command For Dedup Rates
NBU Experts, Do any of you know if there is a CLI command that can tell the dedup rate for all the images created, and stored in a PureDisk pool? For examaple, if I run bpimagelist on the master server I get some good info, but not the dedup rate for each image. Hallo. Hoffentlich kann mir jemand von Euch helfen :-) Über "Configure Disk Storage Server" wurde auf einem Media Server ein MSDP Storage Server eingerichtet. Hello, This is my first post. We have two NetBackup 7.0.1 servers. Both W2008R2 ent. Both VMs. We use MSDP feature. Both servers have 10Tb drives to hold images. Catalog backup jobs are configured. Key file is copied over the network to another DC. Catalog restore process is clear for me. The question is: Are there any additional steps to restore CRDB? 10Tb drives? Could you please provide best practice/manual? Thank you in advance.Solved2.1KViews0likes2Comments
