Department Paritions and Random Sampling
Problem: I need to ensure that emails sent/recieved (regardless of message route) for a particular group of users are reviewed by one reviewer, and that the emails for this group of users do not turn up in any other review set. I thought that creating department partitions may be the solution, unfortunately I can't find any documentation that talks about random sampling (only 'manually initiated searches'). Also, it seems that the message route options for searches are limited to department only (no external options) when partitions are in place. Has anyone configured a 'restricted' review set like I'm describing? Can you share how you accomplished it? Thanks!1.8KViews2likes0CommentsProfile Synchronization only syncs few users and groups in CA 10.0
Active Directory Profile Synchronization is set to Automatically synchronize users and groups. All groups get synced, LAst synchronized date: Shows latest date (Search whole tree is checked) However only few users~700gets synced (Sync Date: show today's date and time). Total number of users is 10,000. Not a big volume and the interval between each sync is 8 hours. There are no event errors. No errors in DTrace. Seems the last time users were synced was Sync Date: 1/17/2014. Checked all Firewall rules and AD ports.Looks good and available on CA server. Any help is greatly appreciated.Solved4.5KViews0likes5CommentsImplications of changing company's SMTP address
Using EV/CA/DA 11.01 CHF3 We have CA Seaches setup to seach anything between a Dept and and Outside the Organization. If I change the company's SMTP address from comany.com to companyinc.com will messages that were external become internal and visa versa? Accordoing to this techote the answer is "no." According to this technote https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000045424 This is what we did: Add an additional SMTP alias address with the required domain to the Enterprise Vault Journaling Task user in Active Directory, Exchange Administrator, or the Domino LDAP directory. This is the recommended way to add internal domains. The voulme of review setsdecreased by ~ 40% after the SMTP Address change. I'm just asking if anyone has any real life experience with this. Thanks for any guidance!1.8KViews0likes0CommentsCA Database Schema - SQL Querying
Hi there - I am currently looking to build some custom SQLqueriesagainst the CA database but am struggling to understand the various tables and their relationships. Is anyone aware of where I can find a data relationship diagram, CA data model schema, or data dictionary to assist? As a temporary option, I am looking at the IntDiscoveredItems table which I understand are similar to the alerts produced when certain hotwords are hit. However I am unsure how to link this table back to the IntHotwordID table? Any help is much appreciated.1.6KViews0likes2CommentsAccess to research folder of ex-employee
Hi, One of user needs to access a research folder created by co-worker who already left the company.Even with administrator permission, we are not able to access the role assignment tab to change the permission. As far as I know, only the folder owner can change the permission. But in our case, since the folder owner already left the company, we are left with no option. Is there anyway to achieve this or does this require an enhancement from symantec?Solved2.4KViews1like3CommentsHow to put CA into read-only mode
Hi, We are performing DR failover testing and would like the EV and CA servers to be in backup mode. It is straight-forward to put EV into backup mode. We do have journaling connector installed and random sampling enabled. Anyone know how to do it for CA without shutting down the CA Admin service? The conern is we don't want the default sampling runs to happen at 8pm and 1am. But we do want to bring up CA on the DR server to test. I see there is an option to uncheck "Enable background processing of captures items". Would that stop the pre-smapling and sampling from running at the prescribed times? Is it possible to apply a "based on search" to all nested departments? We have elected to structure our Departments by sales channel with nested departmentsby manager within the channel. Generally, each nested department contains the same search criteria (different monitored employees). It would gain efficiency if a "based on search" could be used for all nested departments. Below is an illustration. Many thanks.Solved1.9KViews0likes2Comments
