Building NetBackup Global Cluster with VVR Option... need main.cf
Hello, I am trying to build a global cluster with VVR option. Where i have one NetBackup cluster in Site A with two nodes and one Netbackup Cluster in Site B with single node. I know how to do replication manually for the catalog but would like to add it to global cluster configuration to automate everything. I would appreciate if anyone can share the details what services need to be modified or new service group need to be created to accomodate replication part. If i can have a working main.cf for the above solution it will be really helpfull. Best Regards4.6KViews0likes4CommentsMigrate ApplicationHA to new vCenter server
We're consolidating a number of vCenter servers into a single instance. One of the clusters we want to move has VMs managed by AppHA 6.0.1. Is there an easy way to migrate the cluster configuration from the old vCenter server to the new one without causing any cluster outages or losing the cluster configuration? I've found this article on how to deal with the permanent loss of a vCenter server, but an unsure what might happen if the existing vCenter server stays online. https://sort.symantec.com/public/documents/appha/6.0/windows/productguides/html/appha_userguide_60_win/apas11.htmSolved8.6KViews0likes9CommentsUnable to monitor additionally igswd.exe process.
Softwares - Windows Server 2012R2 - SAP Solution Manager 7.1 - Application HA 6.1 I am testing functions of the ApplicationHA agents for monitoring SAP NetWeaver. After I used Configuration Wizard for monitoring SAP system, I used VCS Command to add addtional process(igswd.exe). However, the configuration did not work. Althought igswd.exe was running, the ApplicationHA gracefully stopped the SAP instance. What was the problem?(Was commands wrong?) Hello All, I'm working through a complex implementation and have hit a couple of snags along the way. Maybe people have worked on verious bits along the way and may be able to contribute to an overall solution The object of this endeavor is to create a flexible environment between 2 regional datacenters that gives us the ability to bring up a complex multi-tiered application pod at either location. Physicals meeting this HA criteria run VCS-Geo Cluster, some VMs run VCS-Geo Cluster with VVR while other VMs run AppHA..using SRM. They are all logically grouped within 2VOM VBS groups. The Home VBS consists of the AppHA VMs, Service Groups from the VCS nodes in the home datacenter while the DR VBS consists of the AppHA VMs and the matching DR geo cluster Service groups. AppHA seems to work as planned. VMs move through SRM to the datacenters and register fine in the SymHA consoles and report through VCenter with current status. My primary hurdle seems to be the control of those AppHA VMs from VOM VBS. The VBS control relies on a control host scan; and when that scan takes upwards of 6 hrs to run and update status. That time is better spent doing a manual startup sequence. Again VOM communication and dynamic updating of the Virtualization environment seem to be an issue. The VCS based elements are not an issue with my belief that they are based on a static infrastructure. I have successfully started up and shut down the home VBS, but once it moves to the opposing Datacenter...VOM can't find the VM and AppHA Consoles cant tie updates to records Has anyone done VBS orchistration of AppHA assets withe SRM handling transfers? Hello, I encountered following problem: my customer's application is integrated in VCS (running on linux) - in one of many service groups (SGs). The application is in VCS implemented via Application agent type of resource - it contains scripts for bringing it online/offline/clean action as well as monitoring. After some time it was found out that the customer does not require and need monitoring and cleaning actions at all. The only thing he expects from VCS is to bring the application resource online (or offline) when the whole SG is going online (offline). I am considering how to achieve this. Is it possible to leave out monitoring and clean action from application resource? Is there any other available type of resource (agent) which could do just this? Or should I look for postonline trigger script? If the option is trigger script I would like to see some example. There will be more such applications running on different nodes. Thanks in advance for your opinions/tips. i.2.1KViews1like8CommentsService group concurrency violation
I have two groups for the VCS cluster, App_Cluster & App_Notifier setup in an active/passive setup. The App_Notifier runs the vcs notifer server and send out e-mail on Error level events. The App_Cluster contains all the service to be monitored. Everything is running fine, but recently with all our appliances in development we have seen an issue when we reboot the standby box we get a VCS SevereError. I am trying to track down what suddenly is causing this e-mail to be triggered. --- Email sent --- Sent: Sunday, October 14, 2012 11:41 PM Subject: VCS SevereError for Service Group App_Cluster, Service group concurrency violation Event Time: Sun 14 Oct 2012 11:41:06 PM PDT Entity Name: App_Cluster Entity Type: Service Group Entity Subtype: Failover Entity State: Service group concurrency violation Traps Origin: Veritas_Cluster_Server System Name: app-49-59 Entities Container Name: App Entities Container Type: VCS ThanksSolved1.6KViews0likes3Comments
