Ready; No idle devices are available
I'm new to Symantec Backup Exec as I've taken over the duties of someone else that left the company. The problem that I'm having is I can't get Backup Exec to backup anything, not to tape, not to a shared drive, etc.. Logically I would have thought the issue was that the previous employee had used his account for all Symantec functions, I was able to change his account information for all the services and the connection to the server. Everything appears to be fine, I'm able to do a Test Run without any problems but when I go to do a backup I don't receive any alerts I just get a message that says "Ready; No Idle devices are available". Same result no matter where I try to backup to. Anyone seen this before, have any suggestions of how I can fix it? We're using Backup Exec 2012 S1a. Thanks

I am getting the following events from our newly build server 2012 r2 server with BE 15. I am not sure what is causing this issue, but it appears to be related to BE and performance counters. Error 1068 when attempting to start BackupExec
Hi, I have installed backupExec 2010 on my Windows Server. I keep getting Error 1068: Dependency group failed to start. Some facts: -SQL Server is running (I run Hyper-V and to access VMs, my SQL Server must be running). -I have the domain account set with administrator, domain user and domain admin rights. -I was even able to login before but all of a sudden, not anymore. What could be wrong? Thanks
Can you export BE config and import it to new server?
Hello, my question is does BE version 12 or 2010(sorry cant remember) have the ability to export it's configuration (to include jobs and policies) and then import that info into a new installation? I have a customer that is using BE inside a VM as well as a bunch of other applications that are starting to make the VM perform bad. He wants to create a new VM and move the BE config to it. I do not know this product and i am unsure if this is possible. If it is possible, i would think some of the steps would be like this: 1 Export Config 2 Create new VM 3 Install BE on new VM 4 Import Config Is this even possible? I am trying to see if we can aviod having to recreate all the backup policies Thanks for your help.
