DA 11 no customer database update
Unfortunately I did not follow these instructions from the beginning. So I started to install a dedicated EV 11 server from the install media by using the install wizard. This server came on top to our 3 server environment with EV 10 (plus additional SQL server), where each server got a dedicated task. One for FSA, one for indexing, one for archiving. In general I wouldn't mix up the EV versions, but as the DA server holds non of the above mentioned services and we are going to upgrade to EV 11 in the near future I decided to install the EV11 basics with DA 11 Then I followed the instructions here above and I could go through it smoothly. I could successfully create a customer database, but interestingly the database is not able to update. Error message in evbaadmin: ExecuteNonQuery requires an open and available Connection. The connection's current state is closed. Event ID 59: APP ATM - Failed to update database. Discovery accelerator cannot create Report

Does DA support CNames?
Hi Guys, I installed a brand new DA server called DAServer1 and configured customer and custodian db's. Then installed a second DA server called DAServer2 with binaries only, no config, for standby in DR location. Next I created a CName called DA1 pointing to DAServer1. The DA server move directions as listed here http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH55065 mention copying config files and changing the following 3 config db entries: tblCustomer\IIS, tblGroup\Name and tblServer\Name. I copied the config files to DAServer2 and changed the 3 entries above to point to the CName DA1. After starting DA Admin service DA seems to be working fine. However EVBAAdmin shows 2 server entries: 1. DA1 with the customer and custodian db's under it.The 3 default tasks (customer service, analytics service, customer tasks) are enabled and running. 2. DAServer1 with no db's. However it is showing the 3 default tasks (customer service, analytics service, customer tasks) as enabled and running. I can stop the last 2, but the first it won't let me stop saying it needs at least one customer service task to be running. When I tried to right-click and remove the server, it errored and is still there. This seems odd to me. I've done this procedure before many times when moving DA servers from one physical to another, but never to replace a physical name with a CName. Discovery Accelarator SQL CACHE Files
Hello All I am feeling like a Discovery accelarator noob and unable to figure out cause of existence of certain files. We've Discovery Accelarator 11 CHF2 environment along with Enterprise vault 11 CHF2. On backend or SQL (2008 R2 SP1) server for Discovery accelarator, we've a folder named Data Collection Cache and it has couple of huge files with extension *.CACHE and name DASQL_MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER_{49268954-4FD4-4EB6-AA04-CD59D9BB5714}_4 I am not really sure what these files are and where they're generating from. I would like to change their locations if possible as drive they're existing on is getting filled up really fast due to increasing size of these CACHE file. I can confirm they're not item pre-fetch cache folder/files, that folder is pointing to a different location on DA box itself. Hope its an easy answer. ! Discover Accelorator - Inaccurate hit counts
TCP Chimney, TCPIP Offload Engine (TOE) or TCP Segmentation Offload (TSO) will cause a transport-level error to be logged resulting in inaccurate hit counts for Accelerator searches Title of Tech Doc http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH55653 Doc states that if you do not turn off these settings you get inaccurate hit counts. Do you need to turn them off on both the EV, DA and SQL servers? Optimization docs want you to turn off the setting on all servers. Does that apply here? What is an inaccurate hit count. Does it mean you are missing documents or are documents double counted? We are running EV & DA 9.01 on server 2003, SQL 2008 on server 2008 R2, I have seen the errors listing in the doc in our event log. EV Discovery Accelerator - Reports Requesting Credentials
A quick-fire question: Each time I run a report for the first time from within the EV DA Client (10.0.4), I am requested to enter the credentials to connect to the SQL Reporting Server. I enter the same credentails as the user I am logged on as and away we go !! I am OK running any other reports within the same session, but once I end the DA session and reconnect I need to enter the credentials again. Also, every time I select to export data to PDF/Excel I am asked for credentials. Is there some way I can set this up so it doesn't ask me for credentails the first time I run a report in each session ? Thanks, AJSolved879Views1like7Comments
Immediate search status is queued - need to export all outgoing mail for one archived week
We have DA set up on a Windows Server 2008 R2 box which is seperate from our Vault server and accessed via the console on a windows XP box. I set up the search for a single user's archive with the criteria being that it is from him within the week required. I saved it as an immediate search but it comes up with a status of queued. There is another search going on at the moment but would this be why it is currently queued? The end goal is simply to export all outgoing mail from this user with in this one week period of time; is there an easier way to do this? Any assistance is appreciated.Solved1.2KViews1like6Comments
Installing DCS?
I can start a new post if needed but figured I would try asking here first since it's relevant to the thread... Is it just me, or is finding the actual DCS install more difficult than it should be? When I search for EV DCS I typically come up with DLP. So, does that mean the DCS product install is actually DLP or part of the DLP package? I don't see a DCS installation or admin guide, just those same guides for DLP but when I read them, they are quite unclear. Basically, I'm looking to find the install files for DCS and any related documentation. Would someone mind offering a but of guidance? Thanks!!! We continue to experience inaccurate results which consist of items for a non-selected userthat does not meet the criteria in the search. We have tested with twodifferent searches that producevery differentresults. We use the following search criteria fora search that givesus not only the specific users hits for the day, but another user is included in the hits which appears to only meet the date criteria and not theto or from criteria selected.This is created using a specific date range which is Oct. 3rd - October 3rd. Search terms to or from and we select a singleuser name by clicking on the target and custodian icon on the right. Miscellaneous - Message type is set to all content sources. On the other hand, when we run the same search by typing the name in the to and from field, "first last" then we do not get the additional user listed in the hit however, we do not get the Instant Messages either.
