DA 11 no customer database update
Unfortunately I did not follow these instructions from the beginning. So I started to install a dedicated EV 11 server from the install media by using the install wizard. This server came on top to our 3 server environment with EV 10 (plus additional SQL server), where each server got a dedicated task. One for FSA, one for indexing, one for archiving. In general I wouldn't mix up the EV versions, but as the DA server holds non of the above mentioned services and we are going to upgrade to EV 11 in the near future I decided to install the EV11 basics with DA 11 Then I followed the instructions here above and I could go through it smoothly. I could successfully create a customer database, but interestingly the database is not able to update. Error message in evbaadmin: ExecuteNonQuery requires an open and available Connection. The connection's current state is closed. Event ID 59: APP ATM - Failed to update database. Discovery Accelerator search results inaccurate
We continue to experience inaccurate results which consist of items for a non-selected user that does not meet the criteria in the search. We have tested with two different searches that produce very different results. We use the following search criteria for a search that gives us not only the specific users hits for the day, but another user is included in the hits which appears to only meet the date criteria and not the to or from criteria selected. This is created using a specific date range which is Oct. 3rd - October 3rd. Search terms to or from and we select a single user name by clicking on the target and custodian icon on the right. Miscellaneous - Message type is set to all content sources. On the other hand, when we run the same search by typing the name in the to and from field, "first last" then we do not get the additional user listed in the hit however, we do not get the Instant Messages either. Journal Message De-Duplication - auto-forward the mail from a mailbox on a round-robin basis
Hi, Just a quick question to see if anyone has implemented any work-arounds to the duplication caused by having multiple journal mailboxes in Exchange. An idea that has been passed around (from Symantec consultant) is to point Exchange to a single mailbox and auto-forward the mail from this mailbox on a round-robin basis to multiple journal mailboxes in turn. This does mean that the active journal mailbox will be receiving more mail than EV can handle, but when the forwarding moves on to the next mailbox EV finish the backlog before it's next turn. I've over 1,000,000 messages per hour to journal & must use 30 active EV servers to ingest from 200 journal mailboxes. We have a high usage of DA and CA. almost 500 CA reviewers. Duplicates are killing our reviewers. In some legal cases 90 % of items discovered in DA / CA are duplicates. Meaning almost if you export 1000 items, it is actually 100 items that shows like 1000. We can’t shrink number of journal mailboxes because then EV servers can’t keep of with the rate of items coming in. The solution is to journal only to 1 mailbox (I like to call it proxy mailbox), do not archive directly from proxy mailbox but instead auto forward round robin to other mailboxes (ex. every 20 minutes auto-forward to a new journal mailbox) then have EV to archive from these journal mailboxes. So in this scenario I will forward only 20 minutes to each journal mailbox but I have hours to ingest items from that mailbox. I tested this in the lab, it eliminated CA duplicates, DA duplicates, Storage duplicates, shrunk SQL Vault Store database size and shrunk indexes size. The question is that I don’t have a automatic process to auto-forward messages to different mailboxes. I can write a script but this will takes months. Any suggestions? Hello all, I'm trying to deply DA-reports, using the EVBAadmin-webpage, Reportingserver option. This DA server is in a domain called a.domain.com, the sql-server is in b.domain.com The sql server is pingable, both on ip, name and alias from a to b. When clicking button 'Reporting Server', I am filling in the Reporting Server URL as http://reportserver.b.domain.com As username and password, I am using the username/password of the account created in b.domain.com as being the reporting user account. When clicking the 'upload reports' button, I get an 404 - Not Found. When using machinename, ip-adres, same error. Can I upload the reports manually? Discovery Accelerator web page not opening
Hi, We had Enterprise Vault 7.5 SP5 before we upgraded to 8.0.5 version. We have Enterprise Vault and SQL on MSCS and Discovery Accelerator and UCE in one box and CA in another box. Found we could not upgrade DA directly from 7.5 SP5 to 8.0.5 version hence had to reinstall DA uninstalling the old version. After that we are seeing evbadiscovery site not opening and getting "The website declined to show this webpage" and more info has "Most likely causes: This website requires you to log in." and "More information: This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage." Immediate search status is queued - need to export all outgoing mail for one archived week
We have DA set up on a Windows Server 2008 R2 box which is seperate from our Vault server and accessed via the console on a windows XP box. I set up the search for a single user's archive with the criteria being that it is from him within the week required. I saved it as an immediate search but it comes up with a status of queued. There is another search going on at the moment but would this be why it is currently queued? The end goal is simply to export all outgoing mail from this user with in this one week period of time; is there an easier way to do this? Help! I know this should not be hard, but things never work out when you are in a time crunch do they? All I need to do is get all the emails that are To or From one account when they are either To or From another account (basically all emails between 2 accounts.) We are on version 9.0 I can easily get all emails to or from both addresses, but limiting it down to just the ones where they were to or from eachother is very difficult. Discovery Accelarator SQL CACHE Files
Hello All I am feeling like a Discovery accelarator noob and unable to figure out cause of existence of certain files. We've Discovery Accelarator 11 CHF2 environment along with Enterprise vault 11 CHF2. On backend or SQL (2008 R2 SP1) server for Discovery accelarator, we've a folder named Data Collection Cache and it has couple of huge files with extension *.CACHE and name DASQL_MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER_{49268954-4FD4-4EB6-AA04-CD59D9BB5714}_4 I am not really sure what these files are and where they're generating from. I would like to change their locations if possible as drive they're existing on is getting filled up really fast due to increasing size of these CACHE file. I can confirm they're not item pre-fetch cache folder/files, that folder is pointing to a different location on DA box itself. Hope its an easy answer. !
