OpsCenter not connected to master server
Hi all, I'm new to OpsCenter and I'm having difficulties making it communicate with my master server. Current setup: - master is 6.5.3.1, running on Solaris 9, 32-bit; no media servers in my config - I've installed OpsCenter 7.0 on a Windows 2003 machine, 32-bit All went fine with the installation, I had some trouble starting Tomcat but I managed to bypass those and now I have a fully functional server and a nice, clean GUI up and running. What I don't have is a functional connection between OpsCenter and the master. Here's what I did, chronologically: installed OpsCenter, ViewBuilder, ICS and Agent on the Windows host checked host2host connectivity (bpclntcmd -ip/hn are OK, ping and telnet on port 1556 work fine) checked if the master has the windows host in the "Servers" list -> OK checked if /opt/VRTSpbx/bin/pbx-exchange is running on the master -> OK checked if nbsl daemon is running on the master -> OK "nbregopsc -add" isn't recognized on the master, I assume it only works in NBU 7.0 and above in terms of agent configuration, I've created one from the GUI (since the master is 6.5) yet since OC is not connected, nothing gets collected I've restarted the OC server multiple times checked nbproxy, which seems OK too: bpps -x | grep nbproxy root 4387 26800 0 Jan 20 ? 0:00 sh -c "/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbproxy" dblib nbpem_cleanup root 4388 4387 0 Jan 20 ? 0:01 /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbproxy dblib nbpem_cleanup root 3920 3918 0 Jan 20 ? 0:08 /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbproxy dblib nbpem_email root 26806 26800 0 Jan 20 ? 0:00 sh -c "/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbproxy" dblib nbpem root 26792 26791 0 Jan 20 ? 0:11 /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbproxy dblib nbjm root 3918 26800 0 Jan 20 ? 0:00 sh -c "/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbproxy" dblib nbpem_email root 14478 14477 0 18:27:42 ? 0:01 /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbproxy libminlic -mgrIORFile -LicenseManager-3.ior.mg root 26791 26787 0 Jan 20 ? 0:00 sh -c "/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbproxy" dblib nbjm root 14477 26862 0 18:27:42 ? 0:00 sh -c "/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbproxy" libminlic -mgrIORFile -LicenseManager- root 26807 26806 0 Jan 20 ? 4:36 /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbproxy dblib nbpem I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong here, and I suspect the fact that the agent needs to be installed actually on the master server, NOT on the OC host. If so, please confirm, this particularly important aspect is not clearly stated in the OC admin guide (but I've pretty much given up hopes of seeing proper English and a decent logical flow of ideas in Symantec's documentation, after stumbling upon this: "Either delete the user backup schedule that is a copy from a full or incremental schedule that has the calendar base schedule and recreate the user backup schedule or modify the existing user backup schedule by changing the backup type to full backup and then de-select the calendar base and change it back to user backup type schedule." If someone can translate that, I'd be really grateful...). If my master is running on Solaris I suppose I'd need the Solaris agent? Is there any patch I need to apply to my version of OC (7.0)? Any authentication issues between the two servers I should be aware of ? Below is the security.conf file from the Windows OC host: #Last Updated on #Fri Aug 14 15:58:26 IST 2009 vxss.portnumber=2821 vxss.pbxportnumber=1556 vxss.hostname=localhost vxss.password=EQWWPZUwh5o= vxss.username=admin vxss.domainName=broker I've already executed on the OC host the following command, with it being the resource broker, to no avail: ./vssat setuptrust --broker <RootBrokerMachine>:<port> --securitylevel high Thank you for whatever useful advice you can give me.Solved6.4KViews2likes8CommentsOpsCenter report export discrepencies
Morning, I'm having very basic, but irritating issues with OpsCenter included with out NetBackup 7.1.0.2 installation. OpsCenter is the free version. I have daily reports of backups that succeed or fail. On a daily basis I export these and use them for reporting. When I export, I like to do so via CSV as it allows me to remove the parent jobs that I cannot remove through the report configuration itself. However, when exporting to CSV, there seems to be a limit of 266 rows. As the report extends beyond 266 rows I end up losing a small amount of report data. When exporting to PDF I get all data, but can't edit it as I can with a CSV in Excel. I initially assumed it would be an Excel issue, however the imported CSV shows the "report generated on" line on 266. The same issue applies to XML exports. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? If I could exclude the parent jobs this wouldn't even be an issue, which is possibly the most annoying aspect of this. Hello Folks, We have been in the process of integrating NetBackup backup failure alerts with HP OML for auto-creation of the Incident tickets and get it auto-assigned to our operations ticketing queue. We have got some success in this integration, but there is still some kind of refinement we would like to do in that, as in for example, certain error codes should not generate SNMP traps and not being sent to HP OM and auto-generation of incident tickets for those can be avoided, for example, error code 1, 150 e.t.c to name of few. We just do not wish all backup-failure error codes to auto-generate an Incident ticket for us. How we can achieve that please ? NetBackup : 7.6.0.1 ( In cluster) Master Server/Ops-center server: Windows 2008 R2-64-bit Enterprise Ops-Center: 7.6.0.1 HP OML ( HP Operations Manager for Linux) : 9.10 ================================================================= Any help & guidance in this regard would be much appreciated. This morning I let Firefox update itself to version 39 and now it refuses to connect to OpsCenter 7.6.1.2 due to weak ciphers. Here's the error: An error occurred during a connection to <servernameeditedout>. SSL received a weak ephemeral Diffie-Hellman key in Server Key Exchange handshake message. (Error code: ssl_error_weak_server_ephemeral_dh_key) IE still worked (with complaints) so I know the webserver is there... I tried all the rebuild keystore KBs to no effect so I went digging more. Turns out the fault is in Program Files\Symantec\Opscenter\gui\webserver\conf in the file server.xml I tried editing the line that specifies what types of encryption can be allowed during the secure connection and just messed it up further since I'm not a security expert...I did get things to complain that there wasn't a compatible level of encryption if I deleted all the references to 128 bit stuff so I think I was on the right track but... I'm back on the reverted file and I guess I have to open a ticket with Support...Solved2.5KViews4likes5CommentsAntivirus exclusion on opscenter server

I was trying to delete a few master servers from one of my OpsCenter servers, but it is taking forever. I select the master and click on delete. It refreshes and shows as 'deleting...', however, it has been like that for a few days now. Any way of making this faster, perhaps, SQL code? Hi, I have opened a new thread since the other one is closed. I was asked by management to do the following: A report for each customer in Netbackup, to reveal the amount of data within <=45 days for each customer. So for this one, i`m guessing if I take a 45 day interval within any month(latest), and then split them by customer, I can then see this? Of course not expired data which can be revealed by Protected Data in OpsCenter, right? And a 2nd report with the same this only the achive data >45 days for each customer. Which this can be a looong data generating report. But i`m guessing it shouldnt be that much since it only supposed to have unexpired data. Is this report, relevant if I use Protected Data(which includes I guess all data protected/active) for >45 days, since Netbackup is in place? we have a client with infinite retention..so I have to gather all data for this one. We are using OpsCenter Analitics, so I can use this as I did before. How can I do this? How can I exclude expired images form both reports? //GeorgeSolved2.4KViews2likes11CommentsOpsCenter - Report on Backup Job Database Instance Name
Is it possible to report on database instance names? I have a SQL backup policy configured in NetBackup and it would be nice to report on databases themselves instead of just the server name. In this article http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=HOWTO43374 , it anounces it as a new feature for the 7.1 version. I am using 7.5.0.4 and find nothing. The article states the following: "A new Report On parameter called Backup Job Database Instance Name is available when you edit custom reports. Using the Backup Job Database Instance Name parameter, you can view data for a specific MS-SQL database instance in a custom report."
