DLO doesn't work after reinstall the agent
Hi, sorry about my english! I've got a weird problem with my DLO. I've reinstalled the DLO Agent in some computers at my office after a HDD failure. Some of them work perfecty but other ones, evenbeing installed without any problem and the DLO server can see that the agent is indeed installed, when I go to the Restore tab and select that PC, I get nothing just like this pic: As you can see, there's no folders or files saved up even waiting for several hours. I've uninstalled the Agent, restarted the computer, installed the agent again (after deleting all the PC'sreferences in the server), and created again the user, but nothing happens. Can anyone help me out, please? :)
implemented DLO - Desktop and Laptop Option 7.6 SP1
Hello I'm implemented DLO ( Desktop and Laptop Option 7.6 SP1). I'm in trouble with the high use of MPLS link when you start DLO backup's desktops . When I start the backup it allocates all the bandwidth of the link and compromises the use of other applications. Can you tell me if it is possible to configure and limit for the DLO Desktops use the 64 Kbps maximum for desktop link MPLS ? Thank, José Pamplona
DLO vs Backup Exec Agent
My company is currently upgrading to Backup Exec 2014. We were previously using BE 2010 with DLO on our laptops and some desktops. Now, with BE 2014, DLO is not included? It is a sold seperately, as I am told. My question is, and I am hoping for a non-bias answer here, what does DLO offer that BE Agents do not? I am needing a sort of side-by-side comparison so that I can justify the purchase of DLO or just run with the BE Agents. I have gone through most of the documentation that Symantec has to offer and it seems as though DLO is all that much different than the Agent.
Major Data loss situations - OSX Mavericks + WD drive software + external Hard drives
Please be aware that there are serious data loss issues ongoing with Mac OSX Maverics and Western Digital drive sofware. Both the Apple support and WD forums have mutiple customer reports of total external drive data loss. The data loss is not limited to systems activly using the WD software and drives, other vendor external hard drives are being lost. Personally I just lost 1TB of Time machine backups on a Iomega external drive. I did have a WD myBook for a while about 2 years ago but was not aware the WD drive software was still active on this machine. Current advice from Western Digital is to uninstall the WD drive software before going to Mavericks. How to migrate the Symantec DLO 7.5 SP1 to a new server with different IP and Host Name.
Hi, Actually i have migrated the Symantec DLO 7.5 SP1 to a new server with different IP and Host Name, by restoring the DLO.mdf and DLO.ldf data files but after migration, the clients are not able to communicate with the new server. And after troubleshooting I found the DBServer name on clients in the registry was remain same(Old Server Host Name). If we change the DBServer Name then the Backup runs on Windows XP, but On Windows 7 machine its not working thereafter client get disabled after changing the DBServer Name in registry. So Please help me to get out of it. Is there any other way to migrate the SDLO 7.5 SP1. Thanks, Ashish Agrawal ACPL Systems Pvt. Ltd.
