Seeking SQL query returning per-user count of (non-legal hold) items to be expired from EV
Hi all, Long-time listener, first-time caller. Our customer is looking to turn on expiry in their environmentfor the first time. They use EV in a non-traditional manner, so of 32MM+ items, upwards of 2/3 (maybe even 9/10)are on legal hold via DA. Effectively the only items not on legal hold are from cases thatwere active but have since been closed, removing the holds. Many of the holds overlap, as well. We have successfully tested expiry in a near-duplicateQA EV environment and removed about 2MM items without incident. After presenting that result, the customer's IT team has requested that we add an additional step to present to legal before advancing into Production. They'd like as granular a report as possible of what will be removed so they can confirm the data to be expired should be expired. Criteria are below: Asimplecount of items to be removed per user would be the bare minimum. A better solution would include retention categories The perfect query would provide: Granular item-by-item reporting (for at least some users) Ameans by which at least a subset of physical savesets could belocated and presented After digging around the forums for quite some time, I've tested versions ofJesusWept3's query (which looks like it should do exactly what I need) but: In my lab (which does not have DA) I need to remove any references to the holdsaveset table or else it returns no results I'm considering adding DA to my lab to test it, but I have little doubt thatJesusWept3knows his stuff. I'm confident that it will work. In the QA environment, looking at just one of three vault stores, I stopped it after about 36 hours of execution, made some modifications and was unable to make it work more efficiently. I started it again and it has still not completed running after anotherhours.Even if it does conclude after, say, 48 hours, this is not likely to be an acceptable option to management. Please let me know if you have any tweaks, experience or advice to offer5.9KViews0likes10CommentsMissing EV icons after upgrade to Office 2016 (Exchange Online/Office 2016)
Hi All, We have a killer of a problem that right now is only affecting a few users but my fear is it will grow... I should add that we are well beyond the official 'supported solution"... We were running Exchange 2007 with EV 10.0.4 on both user mailboxes and public folders. We have since migrated all user mailboxes to Exchange Online and are in the process of rehydrating their EV mail into their Exchange personal archives - that's going well... We left the EV tools installed on their clients so they can continune to access Public Folders, which are still archived - this is going to be migrated to Exchange Online as well. My issue... Some users have upgraded to Office 2016 and have lost the icons. We have given them the EV11 add-in and some are working, others are not. In the client log it says: User has never been enabled. (complete rubbish as it worked on Outlook 2013....) FUI: Not loading UI as action map is empty. Is the user enabled? Is the hidden message corrupted? I've checked it using Outlook Spy and EWS Editor and they look intact, everything appears OK but I need someone to tell me what I'm looking for/at? Is it the hidden message that enables the EV icons to appear? If the hidden message isn't in the mailbox, will the icons still appear? Do the icons need to appear in order to open archived items? As it appears so... Thanks!2.7KViews0likes4CommentsEnterprise Vault Restore Issues
Have a very strange problem regarding EV v11.0.0.1470. My task is to restore all archived EV data to a new share.I amrunning the following FSAUtility commands: FSAUTILITY -t -s "\\oldserver\share" -d "\\newserver\share" -l 0 FSAUtility runs and restores the majority of files I would expect to see, but for example if one folder has 10 placeholder files in the \\oldserver\share location (that you can double click and restore successfully), after running the fsautility to the \\newserver\share,EV has only restored 1 of the 10 archived files!? If I open EVvia web browser and browse down through the archive I can only see the 1 file from this location that fsautility has restored, hence only 1 file has restored. BUT like i mentioned above if i double click one of the 9 files in the oldserver share, the files restore with no error! Im unable to restore all placeholders to the oldserver\share due to space, hence restoring EVERYTHING to a newshare. Im very confused and need to be sure I have restored 100% of all archived files before removing the old share location. Can anyone offer someadvice? Thanks2.4KViews0likes6CommentsRestore all items
We are moving to Exchange online in a few months. We currently archive from Exch2016 without shortcuts, on EV 12.5.1. The plan was to disable the users for archiving, and export a users archive back to their orginal mailbox, then migrate to the cloud. Any concerns with that approach? A user had a question, if they move items from their mailbox in to Virtual Vault, would it restore the item back to the original folder? I assume if it's named the same, say Inbox to Inbox then it would work, but if they moved from Inbox to Inbox\reports it would create the folder structure Inbox\reports if it didn't already exist? Hi guys, I am trying to recover all the files from a directory. But the command below ends successfully but does not restore the files. I've tried a different path but it also does not retrieve the files. FSAutility have any restore limits per day? TKS!1.8KViews0likes4CommentsOffice mail app issue after EV 12.1.1
Dear Friends, My Office Mail App is not working after upgrading EV to 12.1.1. It was working in 12.1. The Office mail App bar just shows blank boxes in OWA as well as in Outlook. Users do get prompted for password and after entering the password, it just shows up as blank box. I tried to remove and enable the app again but its the same. Did anyone face this with similar environment as below, Exchange 2013 CU13 EV 12.1.1 on Windows Server 2012 R2 Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Hi everyone I am currently moving from Exch 2010 to Exch 2013 and need all the users data migrated back into their MB from the Vault. We will no longer require the vault for archiving these users just to mnigrate the mail back to exchange. Do you know what is needed to migrate the data! we don not want to implement all the permssions just a write to the MB. Many thanks1.5KViews0likes3CommentsEV9 to EV11 Migration
Currently running EV 9.0.4. EV running on Windows Server 2K8 R2 DA running onWindows Server 2K8 - SQL Server 2005 SP3 32b Databaserunning on Windows Server 2K8 32b - SQL Server 2005 SP3 32b My thought for theinitial phases of theupgrade is to upgrade theEV and DA servers to 10.0.4, then move the databases to Windows Server 2K12 R2 - SQL Server 2012. Once that is stable, I would next upgrade the OS on the existing EV and DA servers and move forward with the upgrade to EV and DA 11.x Is this a generally accepted approach?1.4KViews0likes4Commentsspace needed to perform index upgrade
Hi All, I am in the process of upgrading 32 bit index for a customer. I would like to know if the size of the converted index (64 bit) will be same as the original 32 bit index. This is to get an idea of the amount of free space needed at the open index locations. Environment details: EV 11 Index Server Groups present Thanks & Regards, VJSolved1.3KViews0likes3Comments
