New disk "ERROR" in vxdisk list
I have2 new SAN disks attached to a host.One looks normal andVeritas can see it and initialize it. Still no joy. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? I'm going to have hard time convincing the SAN folks it's a problem since it looks fine with format and the NetApp tool, but there must be something I've missed. hi all, i am getting this error: VxVM vxdg ERROR V-5-1-584 Disk group : Some volumes in the disk group are in use none of the volumes are mounted. even after vol stop all the volume in the diskgroup. it still failed to deport with the same error. any idea how to fix this without a reboot? vxlicrep ERROR V-21-3-1015 Failed to prepare report for key
Dear all, we got a INFOSCALE FOUNDATION LNX 1 CORE ONPREMISE STANDARD PERPETUAL LICENSE CORPORATE. I have installed key using the vxlicinst -k <key> command. But when I want to check it using vxlicrep I'm getting this error for the given key: vxlicrep ERROR V-21-3-1015 Failed to prepare report for key = <key> We have Veritas Volume Manager 5.1 (VRTSvxvm-5.1.100.000-SP1_RHEL5 and VRTSvlic-3.02.51.010-0) running on RHEL 5.7 on 64 bits. I've read that the next step is to run vxkeyless set NONE, but I'm afraid to run this until I cannot see the license reported correctly by vxlicrep. What can I do to fix it? Thank you in advance. Maxuproc not get updated even after reboot
Hi, Got a update to change the "maxuproc for wt82369 by 1.5 times" , While verifying we make necessary modification on the Global (wt81958). Normally there is a relation between max_nprocs value and maxuproc value. FYI.. maxuprc = max_nprocs – reserved_procs (default is 5) In this case we modified the max_nprocs value from 30000 to 50000 FYI.. [root@wt81958 GLOBAL] /etc # cat /etc/system | grep max_nprocs set max_nprocs=50000 After the global zone reboot the value is not updated while we hit sysdef [root@wt81958 GLOBAL] /root # sysdef | grep processes 30000 maximum number of processes (v.v_proc) 29995 maximum processes per user id (v.v_maxup) Can anyone please assist us if any thing we missed in this to make the necessary changes to replicate. This is a solaris 8 box, 3.5 vxvm, attached array is HP EVA. Old legacy stuff..~:), but we are moving away from it soon. Here goes: I have a need to migrate a numebr of large files from several servers to a linux based system from HP-UX 11.23. The data resides on VXFS version 6 filesystems on san storage. I have found LVM tools that allow me to make the MVM structures visible as disks that show up in device mapper on the linux side and I can run strings and dd on the luns and they SEEM to contain the appropriate data. The data itself is in Intersystems Cache database chunks. If I can get the actual files copied over, I can do an endian conversion on them and start using them immediately in the new environment. My problem is transport. I have several 32 GB file that need to be moved and while I haven't done time tests, I am assuming the actual migration time may be prohibitive. I have downloaded a trial of Storage Essentials and installed it on the linux server, but after I make the logical volume visible, I getthe following error when trying to perform the mount: UX:vxfs mount.vxfs: ERROR: V-3-25584: /dev/mapper/vg1220625654-lvol1 is not a supported device UX:vxfs mount.vxfs: ERROR: V-3-24996: Unable to get disk layout version Any help is appreciated. I have been searching high and low on the web, but can't seem to find any current threads about this. vxlicrep ERROR V-21-3-1015 Failed to prepare report for key
Dear all, we got a INFOSCALE FOUNDATION LNX 1 CORE ONPREMISE STANDARD PERPETUAL LICENSE CORPORATE. I have installed key using the vxlicinst -k <key> command. But when I want to check it using vxlicrep I'm getting this error for the given key: vxlicrep ERROR V-21-3-1015 Failed to prepare report for key = <key> We have Veritas Volume Manager 5.1 (VRTSvxvm-5.1.100.000-SP1_RHEL5 and VRTSvlic-3.02.51.010-0) running on RHEL 5.7 on 64 bits. I've read that the next step is to run vxkeyless set NONE, but I'm afraid to run this until I cannot see the license reported correctly by vxlicrep. What can I do to fix it? Thank you in advance.
