SreEula.exe - System Error when booting 2013 R2 SRD
Hi all. I have had a support ticket open on this now for almost two weeks, with no luck. I have 2 issues. Dell Poweredge T420. Intel Xeon E5-2450 2.1. 16GB RAM. Windows Server 2012 R2 Std. System Recover 2013 R2 w/ current MS ADK installed. All Windows updates installed, and Live update ran. 1. When trying to create a "Typical" SRD, I am only offered "German" as a language selection. 2. More imporant issue: I cannot boot the Advanced 64-bit SRD after seemingly successfully creating it in English. Booting starts out fine. Blue Windows logo...white spinning in process icon. I get the symantec boxes for loading drivers, checking system requirements, network confguration, but then I get an error box titled: "SreEula.exe - System Error" . The message is: "The program can't start because oledlg.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem". I have tried repairing, uninstallling and re-installing the software multiple times, but always get the same error. I haven't gotten anywhere with tech support. Anyone with any ideas?? A few days ago I had an issue with doing a system restore using Ghost 15. I went to that forum for help and learned that Symantec was going to discontinue Ghost and recommended users "check out" SSR 2013 with its free trial. I downloaded the free trial and eventually learned it would not install unless I first remove Ghost. That wasn't from anything that I saw when the SSR installation failed; that happened without any additional information. However, I did eventually find my way to this forum and a helpful Guru pointed out the issue and also that I could always re-install Ghost if I wasn't happy with SSR. I uninstalled Ghost, installed SSR, and started backing stuff up. Now, if one of the things you want to do is a full system restore (my primary interest)then you need a recovery disk. SSR will make a recovery disk for you and all you need to do is provide an activation key which you don't get with the trial version. No problem, as all I need to do is install Ghost. But I can't install Ghost until I uninstall SSR. And SSR WILL NOT UNINSTALL. Whenever I try to uninstall it there's an Error 2738 and something about a VBasic error. So now I have a trial verision of a program that I can't use and a paid for program I can no longer load. I guess it can all be fixed if I pay Symantec for an activation key for a program that I'm not sure I want in the hopes it will maybe allow me to upgrade to a latter version that can uninstall so I can install the program I uninstalled so I could evaluate the Free Trial. To put it another way, I may have to pay Symantec to I can remove their free software and load back the software I paid them for as well. And, even it it turns out there's a simple, and hopefully less expensive, way out of this I've still wasted a lot of time on what should be a free trial of a comercial product which appears to be more of an alpha test. (If I sound upset, it's because I really am)2.4KViews3likes12CommentsAlways failed in backing up to shared network drive in another Server ?

Hello Experts, I'm not sure how come my windows server restored from BESR 2010 always rebooting infinitely ? this is the error message 'A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. .....",it happens so fast and i couldn't write down the error message. as soon as I logged in before displaying the desktop it always restart, the problem still occuring even on SAFE MODE. The background is that I tired to restore Windows Server 2003 Std. Ed R2 into older server hardware for disaster recovery purpose and it is confirmed that BESR 2010 doesn't work well with restoring old Windows Server 2003 into old HP server DL380 G5 into G3.Solved575Views3likes4CommentsCreating a Linux Recovery disk
I am trying to create a Linux 5.7 recovery disk and am getting the error message below: # createSRD --iso=/mnt/backup/rhel-server-5.7-source-dvd.iso -d /mnt/backup/customSRD.iso Creating SRD...Please Wait [ ######################## ] 36% Could not get distribution info from media. I'm trying to do something that is dead simple, but frustratingly it's killing me... One little thing, just trying to backup and restore Windows Server 2012 R2 on an Intel i7 PC that's in UEFI mode with GPT partitions on a SATA SSD drive. Symantec System Recovery 2013 SP2 x64 v11.0.2.49853 has no problem going through the paces of restoring the backup, but afterward Windows fails to boot. I even went to the extent of wiping the C drive (and all the partitions), reinstalled WS2012 R2 Data Center GUI (nothing else except a network driver and SSR), backed up freshly installed WS2012 R2 to an external USB drive using SSR installed inside Windows, wiped the C drive (and all the partitions) and restored the backup, but all that effort didn't matter. PC still won't boot Windows. I also tried restoring the 100MB EFI Partition first, followed by the operating system and Recovery partitions, still no help. The only odd thing I see is inside the WinPE SRD, About - Symantec System Recovery Disk shows versions that seem old even though it was just extracted from the latest v11.0.2.49853 download zip file (although the SRD .iso file date of 12/15/13 is older than the SSR SP2 11.0.2 update that supposedly fixed UEFI problems). Symantec System Recovery Disk Symantec Recovery Toolkit 11.0.0 Version 11.0.0.49496 Copyright 1994-2012 Please scroll down to access my troubleshooting documentation "Symantec System Recovery 2013 x64 SP2 v11.0.2.49853 UEFI Restore Problem.pdf" with a detailed collection of photos showing the entire backup and restore process. Do you see anything usual or something that I'm doing wrong? Please help because obviously I am unhealthily obsessed with this problem! ;-) Thanks! I am trying SSR 2013 and I ran into some issues. I am running a Windows 2012 server essentials machine with an LSI 9270 RAID card. The Card has 2 mirrored virtual raid drives setup, one for system the other for data. Both were GPT disks So I installed SSR 2013 trial and at first everything worked fine, I was able to choose and backup my system drive and data drive. The next day I noticed that the data drive was listed as unavailable under the advanced-disks and if i tried to define a new backup I was not able to choose it from the list. I searched online and found that if SSR finds any inconsistency with the GUI partition table info then it marks the disk as unavailable, I ran the utility partinfo.exe and noticed that there were warnings regarding the disk partition of said disk the warnings were: WARNING: Backup GPT Header had the following problem(s): WARNING: GPT Header Check Sum is invalid. WARNIG: GPT Partition Array Check Sum is Invalid. I ran chkdsk and other tools and none could find anything wrong with the disk or partition that partinfo.exe found. I read that a way to reset the partition info was to shrink the volume so I did that and it worked. After shrinking the partition 10mb for example then the program would recognize the disk again and I was able to run the backup once but after some time the program would again label the disk as unavailable and I would not be able to back it up. I proceeded then to move all data from the disk manually to a backup disk and erased the virtual RAID drive and reset a new one in its place. I re-formated the disk, re-installed SSR, copied some data back to it but SSR had te same problem and the disk would show as unavailable again. I wanted to isolate the problem so I converted the disk to MBR disk since its only 2tb and then found that the problem was "solved" after that it works fine and the disk is never shown as unavailable. The system disk is also a "virtual" RAID 1 formatted as GPT and never gave me any trouble, just the second RAID 1 disk. So I am just wondering if there is some explanation for this type of behaviour and what could I do to solve it (other than switching to MBR disks) it is important to clear this up in order to invest in SSR 2013 since otherwise I will need to choose a different solution. Thank you.697Views2likes5Comments
