change the logon account service using command line netbackup
Hello all, innetbackup i want to change the logon account service using command line allthough i alreadyknow how to change the services manually but it is not helpful for my testing purpose. Manual procedure is mention below" To configure the log on account for the NetBackup Client Services Any one help me.......any kind of help is appreciated... Thanks Open the Windows Services application. Double-click on the NetBackup Client Service entry. Click on the Log On tab. If Local System account is not selected as the Log on as account, proceed with step 9. Provide the name of the user account that you created for the NetBackup Client Service. The account must include the domain name, followed by the user account, domain_name\account . For example, recovery\netbackup . Type the password. Click OK. Stop and start the NetBackup Client Service. Close the Services control panel application I want to done above mention procedure but using command.

Steps to configure a client
i want to configure a client at netbackup level. Please correct if i am wrong. for Unix client 1)install the OS 2)we can ask network team to provide an IP and regestering the client in DNS server. Once regerstation done will get the FQDN to our system. 3)we will install netbackup client server software in the machine, it will ask licence key, master, media server names while installing and once installation done 4)we need to add client entries in master server bp.conf , etc/host file. 5)now will chek for the connectivity using ping, telnet and nslookup commands, Once the connectivity is fine will configure the server as netbackup client. Netbackup Client silent install
Looking for a solution to install netbackup 7.6 silently to an AIX box. Will use this solution to be pushed out to multiple AIX servers in the enterprise. Will use Bladelogic to push out the .tar/.gz file and need a silent install solution similar to Windows. Thanks noli

Quick sizer for NetBackup Infrastructure (master, media)
Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone came up with some automated tool in order to be able to create a quick configuration for NetBackup system in terms of server's HW specs, backend storage HW specs etc. All I have found by now is 225-page Symantec NetBackup™ Backup Planning and Performance Tuning Guide which is an enormous amount of reading for a simple sizing session.

How to get pool and retention level list of tapes in one command
Hello Everyone, As the subject sayes I need a command from which I can get pool and retention level of the tapes in one command. This is how I am achiving it right now as following: Below will list all the tapes which are currently in library and are in pool which contains dup in its name. vmquery -W -a | awk '{if($12~/dup/ && $7~/TLD/ )print $1}' > pool.txt Secondly: bpmedialist -mlist -l | awk '{if($12<9)print $1}' > retention.txt Now for getting all the tapes which are in library && in dup pool && with retention less then 9. I do /usr/sfw/bin/ggrep -f pool.txt retention.txt > list.txt I dont want to use GUI (filters can be easily applied there), as I am writing a script to do some tape rotation. Please let me know if there is any way to do this via single command. Basically I need to know the NBU command which list pool as well as retention level of the tape in one go. Netbackup Solaris Media Server to 5230 Appliance Migration
Environment : Solrais 10 Master Server with 7.6.0.1 version and 7.5.0.6 Media servers with Solaris 10. Clarification Needed As we are going to migrate our Physical master server to Virtual master server with the same name ( Catalog Migration) And Going to decommission our solaris media servers to Netbackup 5230 appliance . My Concern here is after catalog migration to new server (virtual master) am going to decommision the Media servers used in old master. Will it effects me in new infra for restores using old disk pools with new appliance and how it works. Or while decommission my old disk pools will also be get deleted ..?
