System Recovery vs. Backup Exec
We have been using / recommending Backup Exec to our clients and are considering System Recovery instead. I found this in another post about this topic. Is everthing correct? Any other comments? Backupexec 2010 a. File based b. Can backup to tape c. Can restore individual email d. Can do bare metal restore to SAME/SIMILAR hardware e. easy to take tapes offsite BE System Recovery (BESR) a. image based b. cannot backup to tape c. cannot restore individual email (restore whole information store from image file) d. can do Hardware Independent Restore e. can be set to backup incremental every 15 mins with almost no impact on performance f. easily import image to VM in case of total failure (i.e. server room fire)RMAN Validating Backup

Netbackup 7.0 LTO7 Hardware Compatibility List
Hello everybody, I want to clarify some doubts. I havea customer who have a Netbakup 7.0 Domain. He is planning to upgrade their Netbackup enviroment and migrating historical backup on a old tape drives such as SDLT to new LTOtecnologies. He wants to duplicate that historical information to new LTO 7 but before that He ask for a POC on the new LTO7 Thecnology amd Netbackup 7.0. I found into the HLC for Netbackup 7.0 Compatibility with LTO7 but it is not clear if posible to implement. The master server is installed on Solaris 10 The new Tape library is going to be SL150 with LTO7 tape drives. Is that compatible with netbackup 7.0? What are the dependences in order to run the POC? If all works well on the POC using the LTO7 and Netbackup 7.0my customer will upgrade to Netbackup 7.7 and the historical backups will be duplicated to LTO7. Hi All, I would like to know if anyone have deployed netbackup enviornment for cloud VMs like in Amazon, Azure, Openstack basically i would like to backup machines created inside cloud using backup software One soution i can think of -master, media both to be deployed in cloud and using cloud storage. In this case if i have multiple virtual private cloud, i need to dploy master and media in each VPC. So i would like to have a solution where i can - Deploy master server outside cloud enviornment Media server inside cloud. Storage devices like tape library or disk appliance outside cloud.. below is one sample diagram i have attached. kindly assist me on designing solution.
