Backup entire Users folder
Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to either backup the entire Users folder on OS X or to be able to set a path variable like Windows. I am trying to backup OneDrive data that is placed under the user folder. I can easily specify a user directory such as /Users/John/OneDriveBusiness but to do that for nearly 100 users isn't an option. In Windows I am able to utilize a path variable of %USERNAME% to grab each user's files. In OS X, the same command does not work. I tried UNIX variables such as $USER and $LOGNAME without success. Thinking I would be able to grab the entire /Users folder by specifiying /Users, but it doesn't seem to get the entire profile. The admin guide does not go into detail for Macs as it does for Windows. Any help is appreciated.

Hi, Just Iwant to know that One is customer who have 30 Desktop & laptop computer in their orginzationn,But IT person want to use Symantec Dlo for backup purpose,But there is one problem each computer isnot member of Domain. What I want ,is there is any way, where go and give domain credential to my computer ,with help of that, Workgroup computer can also use Symantec Dlo for backup... if possible please let me know.. DLO 7.6 - Encryption Keys Question
Hello, This is a question from one of my customers: A further note, within the DLO Admin Guide (v7.6), it mentions the following: DLO encrypts user data using a user-specific, randomly generated encryption-key. The encryption-keys are stored in DLO's configuration database on the DLO Administration Server. The encryption-keys are also stored in encrypted form on the File Server as explained in the next section. It looks like the passphrase configured in the Admin Console is used for encrypting the encryption keys, but the keys themselves are internally generated by DLO. Is it possible to get further information on the process for generating the encryption keys? Does Symantec have a white paper on this process? If not, is it possible to explain exactly what happens. NB: These questions are coming from the security team who are trying to protect the backups of their executives' data. Cheers, Cameron
DLO 7.6 // no autostart possible on win 8.1 machines
Hi @ all, in our company domain we have several laptop computers with clean installation of windows 8.1 pro (x64). On this machines DLO agent(productversion = "7.6" -buildversion = "76593a")areinstalled and our issue is that the DLO agent isnot starting automaticly when a user login. Via the task manager we already enabledthe autostart function for DLO and set the UAC to minimum level,but nothing changed since rebooted and sign in again. We do NOT have this issue on machines that runnig Windows 7. Please help us to solve this issue, many thanks.how to take backup using dedup feature of DLO
Hello , I am able to create success fully dedup storage but I am stuck to take take the backup when I start the backup job I am getting the error "engine is operating is offline mode " . according to the link http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH209116 is this known issue ??
