Flex Appliance support for iSCSI
Hi folks, Does anyone know if Flex Appliance supports iSCSI, as we intend to use the MediaServer application as our "Backup Host" for Nutanix AHV cluster backup, which will require iSCSI protocol to perform the backup through Nutanix's "iSCSI data services IP address". If not, this mean that we'll have to configure a separate Server/VM with iSCSI, right ? Regards.12Views0likes1CommentBMR Master Server on Netbackup Flex Appliance

Hi, we have configured an media server's instance on flex appliance 5340, with Netbackup 8.3. Outside there is a master server also 8.3. In order to add clients, and populating file hosts on media server, we read to manual configuration that we must off the media server instance. So, we think: Is it possible that every times we need to add a client ip on file hosts, we must put offline the media server? Is it exist another way for this? We saw that the media server file hosts loose client's entry after reboot instance. Thanks in advance, Regards816Views0likes1Comment(CEP-16621) CloudCatalyst HotFix Survey

Access the full IDC Technology Spotlight here: Simplifying Data Protection with Next-Generation Converged Infrastructure. KEY TAKEAWAYS Flex Appliance may be the most important product announcement by Veritas since the company split from Symantec some years ago. Flex Appliance is a new architecture designed specifically for modern data protection workloads. It also offers an important bridge back to NetBackup environments that should provide this large group of users a logical and simple path forward. Veritas is among the first major vendors to move into this rapidly emerging and growing product category. It does so with the clear advantage of a large, receptive installed base and with credibility built on its successful NetBackup appliance. Flex Appliance's microservices architecture is also built to address the diverse data protection and management needs of specific business units and applications. Thus, as a single system, it can simultaneously provide consolidated data protection operations with the ability to deliver microservices on a best-in-class basis for specific workloads. We believe that Flex Appliance may be the key to Veritas retaining its market-leading position in the data protection and recovery market.
