Hi guys. I am currently running Opscenter 7.5.0.6 under windows 2003 sp2 standard edition, wich if course it´s 32 bits, and now facing the migration to 7.6, I am rebuilding some servers, and this one is among them. As far as I understand, the correct migration sequence would be to upgrade first opscenter, them master, and then media. I am building a 2012 windows server, but would like to keep all the data and queries I have in my old server. Do I need to do a backup and then restore some folders, just copy paste, or am I doomed and have to recreate averything manually? Thanks in advance.Solved1.1KViews1like4CommentsOps Center Installation

According to the SORT generic OpsCenter 7.6.0.2->7.6.1.1 checklist the general process is: Upgrade the agent Upgrade OpsCenter But...shouldn't OpsCenter be upgraded first and then the agent on the monitored NetBackup masters? Otherwise you have (for a short time) a higher level agent talking to a lower leven OpsCenter.Solved685Views0likes3CommentsOpsCenter View Builder Compatibility with 2008
TheCompatibility Technote and SORT states: View Builder shows"YES" in the colmuns for usage on 2008 and 2008R2 (32 or 64 bit) However, there is a note (2) which says "2. NetBackup 7.6 and later does not support this feature on this platform." I've seen the View Builder work fine at 7.6 on 2008. Why are we saying it NOT supported at 7.6? Why are we dropping support?516Views1like2CommentsOpsCenter migration from 2003 to 2012 server will not connect to masters
Hi all, We've had to do some migration on our OpsCenter server and move it from a windows 2003 to a windows 2012 R2 server. We went about it this way with help from Symantec support. Install OpsCenter 7.6.0.1 and Agent 7.6.0.1 on 2012 server. Upgrade Server and Agent to 7.6.0.4 Move 2012 database folderto a temp spot and make a new one. Backup 7.5.0.6 database on 2003 server to a known good location. Copy database files over to the 2012 server in the new location. Run the upgrade script from 7.5.0.6 up to 7.6.0.4. (competed successfully) Start up OpsCenter and Agent. None of the steps above created any errors and the db upgrade went fine. I logged into OC and noticed all the entries I expected to be there were there. Because the masters had not yet been harnessed by this box, all of them showed up disconnected. We then proceeded to change the bp.conf file to allow access to this box by the new OC. To summarize, the masters are all running NetBackup 7.5.0.6 and OC is at 7.6.0.4. The masters are all running RHEL 5.10 or higher along the 5.x family. To enable access by OC, we've changed entries in bp.conf add new OC box to SERVER = lines as well as theOPS_CENTER_SERVER_NAME. We've also tried long name and short name. We've also dumped the host case with bpclntcmd as well as removing the host_cache dir itself. Don't even get em started on how many times we've rebooted and restarted services. No matter what we do, we always get:"The specified NetBackup Master Server could not be found. Make sure...". I'm at a loss for what could be wrong. About the only breakthrough we've had (and by we I mean myself, Symantec support and backline) is that I was able to remove one of the smaller masters and add it back successfully. Once that happened, the server came to live in OC and It can be used now. Any thoughts on this?347Views0likes0Commentsnew installation fails RHEL6 OpsCenter
/lib/ld-linux.so.2: bad ELF interpreter: No such file or directory Trying to install OpsCenter v7.6 on RHEL6 and it seems to want 32bit library though the machine is totally 64bit. Any workaround for this? Owner does not want to install 32bit packages.477Views0likes2CommentsOpsCenter WebServer Service Not Starting
I've been tasked to install OpsCenter onto a VM. The install completed successfully, but when I try to connect to the applicaiton I'm unable to. I've checked the services, and everything except the OpsCenter WebServer Service is running. OpsCenter is installed and running in another environment. I've compaired the configuration in both VMs and I've not been able to find any differences at this time. This is for OpsCenter 7.5 running on a VM Windows 2008. In the OpsCenterWebSrvService log I did find this: Command to Run: "D:\Program Files\Symantec\OpsCenter\gui\WEBSERVER\bin\catalina.bat" run Executed in D:\Program Files\Symantec\OpsCener\gui\ Process : "D:\Program Files\Symantec\OpsCenter\gui\WEBSERVER\bin\catalina.bat" run Created with Process ID: 288 ---- Command output log --- Error:Process exited with error code = 255 CProcessMgmt[Exit]::CreateProcess CProcessMgmt[Exit]::ApplyEnvValuesAndLaunchProcess The process has been either terminated explicity or the process itself threw and exception & thus terminated CProcessMgmt[Exit]::StartProcess StartProcess API call failed CServiceWrapper[Exit]::StartProcess CServiceWrapper[Entry]::StopService CServiceWrapper[Entry]::StopService- OpsCenterWebServer Anyone have any ideas?747Views3likes1CommentPlan of Upgrade OpsCenter from 7.5.0.4 to 7.6.0.1 - view builder
Hi, I am starting to plan for our NBU upgrade to 7.6 etc and I need to upgrade OpsCenter first. Our OpsCenter has viewbuilder installed but I dont think we are using it at present, The future maybe ! OpsCenter is currently living on a windows server 2008 x64 system and i have found SORT and the installation guides suggest that view builder is not supported on this platform. Can anyone shed any light on this matter.? Is there an alternative to this ? Or do I have to migrate onto a different platform before I can upgrade. ? Any advice welcomed. Paul864Views0likes2Comments
