SAP HANA DB Backups
Hi We are in phase of setting up SAP Hana SPS10 backups from Netbackup. Clients are on RHEL 6.5, NBU 7.6.0.3 I have read somewhere only NBU versions >= 7.6.1.2 SUpports FUll, INcr, Differential Incr backups of Hana DB. Does any NBU version prior to 7.6.0.3 has this capability? As per NBU SAP guide for version 7.6 "For this release, data backup and restore are initiated from the SAP HANA studio and not from NetBackup Administration Console. You can run backups using the SQL commands. You can also use Cron to schedule the backups." DOes it Mean no SAP HANA backup can be schduled from NetBackup Admin console ? How can we define no. Of streams of backup (just like channels in Oracle) ?

Backup of SAP HANA with multitenant database container with netbackup.
Hi, I have one query? We have netbackup 7.7.2 and SAP HANA with multitenant database container. For one instance we have to do following configurations on SAP HANA studio: Create hdbbackint soft link from /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/opt/hdbbackint to /usr/openv/NetBackup/bin/hdbbackint_script for every database instance. The parameter file (initSAP.utl) must be specified for data in the SAP HANA database instance configuration. To specify the parameter file, go to Instance->Configuration-> global.ini > data_backup_parameter_file. The parameter file (initSAP.utl) must be specified for logs in the SAP HANA database instance configuration. To specify backup using the parameter file, go to Instance->Configuration->global.ini-> log_backup_parameter_file. To specify backup using the backint file, go to Instance->Configuration->global.ini-> log_backup_using_backint->SYSTEM = true. My problem is that how to configure backup for multitenant database container (For multiple Instance ) We have cluster "Dev" with multitenant database container having 3 instance "Dev" "Quality" and "SystemDB" The problem is that DBA is telling that create hdbbackint soft link from /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/opt/hdbbackint to /usr/openv/NetBackup/bin/hdbbackint_script . DBA inform us that,It is not possible due to Database instances in SAP HANA database will be in hidden mode. So we cannot create the links. Requesting you to help me in this. Blat not authenticating email user
Hi, I configured Blat to enable email notification on Netbackup, it is working fine however if I specify a username and password in the registry, I am getting the following errors: *** Warning *** The SMTP server did not accept Auth PLAIN value. *** Warning *** Are your login userid and password correct? *** Warning *** The SMTP server did not accept Auth LOGIN PASSWD value. Any idea ?

nbatd is failing to start
Hi. I'm running NB 7.6.0.3 on Solaris 11 x86 OS. When I restart NetBackup nbatd silently dies. In my messages log I see "Dec 9 10:27:48 wayback nbatd[17474]: [ID 702911 user.error] V-18-24591 Broker has mismatched keypair". Searching the net, this forum and the documentation I cannot find any way to fix/regenerate these key pairs. Any ideas or is this a job for symantec support? This is not an emergency, my backups are running fine. I'm just trying to set up a trusted relationship with another master server. Thanks! David

San transfer mode Status 23
Hi Master & media Solaris 10, NBU 7.6.0.3 Backup host : Windows 2008 R2, NBU 7.6.0.3, Physical host, San connectivity VM client : windows 2008 server Backups for this one client is failing with error 6 "Error bpbrm(pid=20754) from Client: ERR - Error opening the snapshot disks using given transport mode: Status 23" when I changed the mode of the transfer to nbd this backup worked, But this backup should be running via SAN transport mode. Please suggest.

Requirements for my Master Server (RAM memory and processors)

NBU 7.5 - Error 37 Invalid Server after upgrade and new media server
I have upgraded an NBU 7101 Master server to NBU 7503 - all OK.  Following the upgrade I introduced another Media Server (3 allready), installed NBU 7503, added the server name to the Master Server list of servers and created two DSUs attached to the new media server.  No host file entries anywhere, and I can ping the master from the media and vice versa.  Backups through other media servers are fine. Whenever I try and run a backup to one of the DSUs attached to the new media server I get the Error 37 Invalid server error immediately.  When I look at the ALL LOG MESSAGES for the period in question (attached) I see that there are two SECURITY errors just prior to the failure - but these have my domain ("DOMAIN") in the client field and the master server in the server field.  I assume this is an issue - but after looking through the master server properties, client names restarting services on both master and the new media server I cannot seem to get round this error. Any advice appreciated. AJ
