Install SSR 2013 R2 run failed
hi Symantec sensei Currently I'm struggling with installation of plug-ins, agents, SSR 2013 R2 with user interface on the end-point stations(200 stations) from SSR Management console (7.5.3153). Mostly it goes good, but some stations ignore the installation of “Package for Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 with user interface”. In the agent history, it shows that “Install SSR…..Run failed”. I checked the obstacles, which could stop the installation – antivirus manipulations (exceptions, complete uninstall, etc.), win os firewall settings/rules (permit all in all directions), tried to Update Distribution Points, manually initiate the installation/downloading the package from Agent (CommonInstaller.exe. It starts for a sec and then disappears). PS: is it possible to install this package manually in offline mode? tried to find it, but without result Kindly ask You to help in this. The LOG file from Agent is attached. regardsSolved1.8KViews0likes8CommentsProblème de customization du recovery disk
DLL ? EXE ? Merci de votre expertise...1.1KViews0likes8CommentsCommand Files with File & Folder Backups
I'm trying to setup a "Triggered" File & Folder backup job that backs up a single file when a particular application is run. Problem is, I need the backup to run AFTER the application terminates, not while it is running. Was going to use a "Pre" script to monitor the application by using the Tasklist command in a loop until the application terminates, but then discovered that you can't specify Command Files for File & Folder backups. Anyone have an idea how I can achieve this?Solved1.1KViews0likes6CommentsSystem Recovery 2011/2013
Hello all, I am just curious we are about to upgrade Symantec System Recovery 2011 to System Recovery 2013, and I was curious if the recovery points that we made with 2011 are compatible with 2013? Namely, if I was to do a full restore of my H: drive with System Recovery 2013 and it was made using System Recovery 2011, would it fail because of the differences (if there is any) between the two? Would things such as permissions or other granular recovery items be missing for some reason cause they save differently? I am just getting as prepared as possible for the switch. Thanks in advance, Andrew488Views0likes2CommentsSymantec System recovery 2013

A few days ago I had an issue with doing a system restore using Ghost 15. I went to that forum for help and learned that Symantec was going to discontinue Ghost and recommended users "check out" SSR 2013 with its free trial. I downloaded the free trial and eventually learned it would not install unless I first remove Ghost. That wasn't from anything that I saw when the SSR installation failed; that happened without any additional information. However, I did eventually find my way to this forum and a helpful Guru pointed out the issue and also that I could always re-install Ghost if I wasn't happy with SSR. I uninstalled Ghost, installed SSR, and started backing stuff up. Now, if one of the things you want to do is a full system restore (my primary interest)then you need a recovery disk. SSR will make a recovery disk for you and all you need to do is provide an activation key which you don't get with the trial version. No problem, as all I need to do is install Ghost. But I can't install Ghost until I uninstall SSR. And SSR WILL NOT UNINSTALL. Whenever I try to uninstall it there's an Error 2738 and something about a VBasic error. So now I have a trial verision of a program that I can't use and a paid for program I can no longer load. I guess it can all be fixed if I pay Symantec for an activation key for a program that I'm not sure I want in the hopes it will maybe allow me to upgrade to a latter version that can uninstall so I can install the program I uninstalled so I could evaluate the Free Trial. To put it another way, I may have to pay Symantec to I can remove their free software and load back the software I paid them for as well. And, even it it turns out there's a simple, and hopefully less expensive, way out of this I've still wasted a lot of time on what should be a free trial of a comercial product which appears to be more of an alpha test. (If I sound upset, it's because I really am)2.4KViews3likes12CommentsI'm testing Symantec System Recovery 2013 and i need to have script to schedule backup with external scheduler
