Is there a way to install the netbackup client on a windows 2008R2 server, without java? the purpose is: this is an application server that allready uses java, when the default windows client is installed, the application doesn't behave normal anymore. we allready figured out that this is related to the java-stuff that is installed with the netbackup client. we want to install the agent, so backups can be performed, but there is no need to have any nbu-gui running on this server, so I don't think java is necessary. How can I install the client without the java-stuff?1KViews0likes1CommentNBU console access for non-admins
this is not easy to come across so i'm sharing my settings for /usr/openv/java/auth.conf [root@master java]# cat auth.conf root ADMIN=ALL JBP=ALL nbu ADMIN=AM+BPM+DM the above settings will allow non-admins (unix username here is nbu) to run NBU Java console with limited rights. for explanation of the rights, https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000112209 https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.v41641740_NBU_773 https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.v41641767_NBU_773 HTH.1.1KViews1like1CommentJava console (7.7.3) does not remember printer settings.
I've marked this as under Windows 8 even though I'm running this under Windows 10. Does anyone if there is a way to force the Java NBU admin console to remember printer setup changes made after closing out the program and restarting it? I've even tried running "nbjava.bat" as administrator with no change in behavior. It never remembers printer setup selections. Also is there a way to change what font size it uses when printing reports? I prefer the old NBU administration console application for managing NBU servers. With the specific column set I was displaying in my tape reports, I was able to get the output printed on one page. As it is with this Java console, it takes up two pages and the 2nd page only has one or two columns on it. Thanks in advance!2.1KViews0likes4Comments
