Single-Step Deployment of Veritas Storage Foundation High Availability 6.0.3 on RHEL 6.4/6.5 Using Yum
This deployment guide explains how to install and configure Symantec Storage Foundation and High Availability products on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems using the Yum package manager. Special focus is on the RHEL 6.4/6.5 version, as these require a multi-step installation process using Symantec’s Common Product Installer (CPI). Both RHEL 6.4 and RHEL 6.5 require an upgrade to the Storage Foundation 6.0.3 maintenance release and the installation of Veritas File System (VxFS) hot fix 6.0.300.300. (See TechNote 203099 and TechNote 214270.) Using YUM as described in this guide lets you install the Veritas Storage Foundation base product packages as well as all the necessary updates and patches from a central Yum repository in one step, without the need for multiple calls to the product installer.1.8KViews4likes5CommentsStorage Foundation Cluster File System HA on VMware VMDK Deployment Guide

As a Disaster Recovery and High-Availability Consultant, I've participated in several disaster recovery exercises, for different customers in different industries, most of them large financial institutions, that are severely regulated here in Brazil and, I believe, all around the world.736Views5likes0CommentsFrom CFS to Local VxFS, and Back Again
One of the really cool things about Storage Foundation Cluster File System (CFS) and Cluster Volume Manager (CVM) is that the on-disk formats they use are identical to those of regular VxFS and VxVM. You can go back and forth with no data conversion.2.6KViews0likes3Comments
