Error restoring from Backup2Disk folder
We are consistantly encountering an error when trying to run a restore. Our setup is - a Windows 2008 R2 server running Backup Exec 2010 R3. The is backing up (amongst other things) 3 Mac Servers. The Full backups are going to Tape and then there are Differentials going to a Backup2Disk folder and then, once a week, to tape. The problem is that when we try to restore from the differential on the Backup2Disk folder the job fails with the error: "Final error: 0xe00084ca - The data being read from the media is inconsistent". The backup itself runs with no trouble. Verification is on and no errors are reported. The are no tapes involved in this restore so it is not to do with tape problems. The only way I can get a restore to succeed is if there are no files and only a folder structure in the selected items - not much help! Thanks
RALUS Agent doesn't start
After multiple sucessfull installs and uninstalls I continue to get this error when trying to start the Ralus agent manually. [root@froggy bin]# /etc/init.d/VRTSralus.init start Starting Symantec Backup Exec Remote Agent ./etc/init.d/VRTSralus.init: line 23: 29656 Segmentation fault /opt/VRTSralus/bin/beremote >/var/VRTSralus/beremote.service.log 2>/var/VRTSralus/beremote.service.log ............................. Starting Symantec Backup Exec Remote Agent: [FAILED] [root@froggy bin]# I am at a loss as this has worked on numerous other boxes I have installed on recently.... Thanks in advance for your help.
Can't install Macintosh Client On Mac OS X 10.5 Server
Dear Friends, Good morning. We are trying to get Symantec Backup Exec™ 12.5 for Windows Servers Clinet Mac going. When going trying to open "installrams" I get the following message: "ERROR: Unable to launch Mac Intel installer. logout" In reading the script I found it is calling /RALUSx86/installrams. This script is present. It occured to me that this is a 2X Xeon but, is there a way to get the 64bit and install going. Has anybody got this going? Peace, Eric Gadsby
VRTSralus.init stops Unexpectedly
Hi All, we have an annoying problem with one of our Linux servers. We are running BE12 on Windows 2003 Ent Server. The selection list for backup includes 4 Windows Servers and 5 Linux (RHEL4) servers. The agent VRTSralus.init on one of the Linux servers stops unexpectedly, and the backup job fails every day. Then, I have to start manually the agent, but after some hours it goes down, without reasons... Any ideas? Thanks in advance
Ralus Agent : SLES 10 - Horrible slow !!!! TERRIBLE !!!
Hi All, Many people complaint regarding the throughput with the RALUS AGENT on Linux. I uninstall, reinstall the agent, did many tests, etc, .... All the time the same result, all my windows servers agent kick arouth 1500mbits/m and all the linux server are at 40mbits/m ... Is there a workaround for this ? Beta Ralus Agents ? Downgrade version who works better ? Ralus.cfg special config ? etc, My system : Backupexec 12 SP1 - Lastest hotfix ( Yes ! I did all the Live Update already ) Any help will be appreciated. Eric
