Netbackup appliance 5230 & Fibre Channel Autonegotiation
HI, I have deployed a 5230 appliance with 2.6.1.2 release. During the configuration of FibreTransport media server, I had several issues with the link between SAN Switch (Brocade 16Gb FABOS 7.3.0c ) and the target ports on the appliance (port 1 on slots 5 & 6). Looking at the porterrorshow on my switchs I saw a lot of loss of sync on the Switchs ports. I have solved theses issues by setting the speed to 8 Gbs on the switch. Does anybody experiment the same issue with Appliance (for my part, it was the very first time after many deployement) ? regardsSolved2.5KViews0likes3CommentsZoning Aix to Netbackup 5230
Hi guys, I just create a zone between AIX (LPAR), 5230 appliance and a storage like this As you can the AIXserver has two FC adapter each one belongs to a zone, butsometimes I lose visibility from netbackup so I have to go to the client and run cfgmgr command or even restart clients services. Then on AIX server I run some commands like this root@PRECBPHCDB]:/usr/openv/netbackup/bin>lsdev -Cc tape The output Im getting is: rmt0 Available 42-T1-01 Other FC SCSI Tape Drive rmt1 Available 44-T1-01 Other FC SCSI Tape Drive rmt2 Available 44-T1-01 Other FC SCSI Tape Drive [root@PRECBPHCDB]:/usr/openv/netbackup/bin>tail It is normal to get"Other FC SCSI Tape drive". Should I install a Veritas driver o something like that?561Views0likes1CommentUser Access Management on Appliances
Hi all, Am I reading it right that User Access Management, because it's part of the NBAC, isn't available on the NetBackup Appliances? Does this mean either I can give users admin access or nothing at all? I am aware of the command line ability to assign a role to a user/group to allow them CLISH or Shell, but I was hoping to at least use the built in roles in NetBackup and am surpised to see this not available for Appliances. Thanks in advance. RichardSolved1.2KViews1like4CommentsAdvanced disk space
I´m running out space in my "advanced disk" but in my MSDP I have plenty of space. So I need to know if there is way to "take" some space from MSDP in order to add some TBs to advanced disk? If so, this process involves lose data from MSDP? For full, differential and transaction logs backups which type of disk is better?? MSDP or Advanced Disk? Just FYI Im talking about Netbackup 5230 appliance (2.6.1.1) Any Ideas... Thank you guys!Solved741Views0likes1Commentnetbackup appliance connection with tape library

In myenvironment we have to netbackup appliances in to different locations where on replicates to the other. The issue is that all the other metrics match between the two appliances pure disk and Advanced Disk butpure disk disk pool used capacity does not have the same number and it should. Server 22 used pure Disk capactity is 38,318.494.13 MB and the percentage disk pool usage is 75.92, now with server 24 the pureDisk disk pool used capacity is 33,863,213.09 MB and the Percentage of the disk pool used is 67.09 but they both have hav a disk pool usable size of 50,471,198,73.We contacted netbackup and they did not find any orphan images. now running a images on disk report. I also uploaded a copy of the disk pool capacity report, If Anyone have any useful information I would greatlyappreciate it, Thanks in advance919Views0likes4Comments
